Mystery : Dead Man Withdraws N4.3 Million From Union Bank Account In Kaduna

 That's what we are been made to believe, how else does one describe a situation where a young medical doctor who died in a motor accident on the way to his wedding on October 10, 2013 withdrew about N4.3m from his own account in Union Bank in Kaduna few weeks after his death? Information from the bank indicated that the dead man used the ATM card to make the withdrawals.

 A new twist emerged when the dead man applied for an ATM card from his bank and used it to clear his account. A family source said: “When Chidiebere died, we discovered that his mobile telephone num­ber had been blocked. We were surprised because no member of our family told the GSM service provider that Chidiebere had died. So, we took up the matter and it took some time before the line was reactivated.

“We got the shock of our lives after re­activating the line. As soon as we switched on the phone, we began to receive alerts of withdrawals from his account. All the withdrawals were made after he had died and had been buried. During his life time, he did not use ATM cards but in death, he applied for ATM card from the bank in Kaduna and started withdrawing all the money in his account. Worse still, Chidie­bere was not the owner of all the money in the account. One of his brothers who went abroad in search of greener pastures was sending money to Chidiebere to keep for him. Now, the brother is back and Chidie­bere’s corpse had withdrawn all the money as the bank wants us to believe.”

 It was learnt that the family has con­tacted the bank on the strange withdrawals but it has been prevaricating over the issue.

 According to a report by SA newspaper Sowetanlive, 18 year old Boitumelo Dlamini was taken by four girls into a car, driven to a bush where they poured petrol on her and burnt her to death.

 One of the girls is the ex-girlfriend of the boy she's dating. Her charred body was found in the bush in Klipgat, North West, on Thursday June 25th.

 Boitumelo's boyfriend's ex-girlfriend and three of her friends have been arrested for the crime and are facing murder charges and kidnapping.

 Boitumelo , 18, a Grade 12 pupil at Elepsa Secondary School, became romantically involved with Tokelo Makalepho, 24, from her village, six months ago.

 Boitumelo's sister, Nono Dlamini, 26, alleged Makalepho's former girlfriend was jealous and could not stand that Makalepho was dating Boitumelo.

"She constantly intimidated my sister and threatened her," said Nono, speaking on behalf of her family. My sister died because she was beautiful and doing matric."

Nono said Boitumelo's friends said that on Thursday they saw her get into a car after school.

They did not recognise the vehicle.

"We got worried when she did not return home. Later we received a call to say she was dead. We understand that they took her into the car, drove with her to a bush in Klipgat and then poured petrol on her and burned her." Nono said

 Tumi, as she was affectionately called by her family, had dreams of being a crime investigator.

She was a dedicated pupil whose subjects included history, life orientation, life sciences, English and Afrikaans.

"She was a loving person, she did not want people to get hurt," her sister said. "She always smiled and was very kind."

According to Makalepho, his ex told him she will only accept their break-up if he promised to date ugly women who already have children. She also allegedly told him the new woman must not have a matric certificate.

"She was angry that I dumped her with a baby," Makalepho said yesterday. "I never thought she can do this, I'm traumatised."

Makalepho and his ex have a 19-month-old daughter.

"I don't feel that my daughter is safe with her anymore. I dumped her because she cheated on me, she cannot blame me for her failures," he said.

North West police spokesman Captain Paul Ramaloko said four people were arrested.

They will appear in the Brits Magistrate's Court today.

"I Haven't Slept Since I Put Two Bullets In Him" - Tunisian Policeman Reveals How He Finally Killed Beach Gunman

 A Tunisian police officer has revealed details of how he put 'two bullets' in the ISIS assassin to end his slaughter of holidaymakers lounging on a tourist beach.

The policeman, who wished to keep his identity secret, said he shot the murderer Seifeddine Rezgui following his 25-minute rampage. He spotted the gunman while he was praying in a side street and shot the 23-year-old aviation student, who was armed with an assault rifle and grenades.

 Following his killing spree, Rezgui stopped outside a housing development belonging to Mayel Moncef, 56. 

As bullets rained down on the gunman from rooftop snipers, he dropped to his knees in prayer, allowing a grenade to roll from his hand and into the gutter.

Mr Moncef then picked up a stack of terracotta roof tiles and threw it on the head of the gunman, causing him to stumble. He walked a few yards before the policeman shot him dead.

'I put two bullets in him. I haven't slept since', he told the Sunday People. 

Witness accounts say Rezgui was seen laughing and joking among the midday bathers, looking like any other tourist.

But he was actually carefully picking out the victims he would murder with a Kalashnikov hidden in his parasol.

In the murderous rampage on the crowded Tunisian beachfront at El Kantaoui near Sousse, he killed 38 - with 36 seriously wounded. 

The British were his prime targets and at least 15 have been confirmed dead.

'One minute you're on a sun lounger then the next there are bullets whizzing past your head', one witness said. 

Last night, a Tunisian Interior Ministry source said that while Rezgui did not have a criminal record, he was known to authorities for 'low level radicalism' and was once stopped by police for smoking cannabis.

The source confirmed Rezgui was an active member of a radical group called Islamic Youth and would go to mosques controlled by radical preachers.

By the time he launched his killing spree in Sousse, Rezgui was said to be working with ISIS, which yesterday posted a picture of him with two assault rifles either side of him, on its website.

Using Rezgui's jihadi name, Abu Yahya al-Qayrawani, it described him as 'Our brother, the soldier of the Caliphate'.

Speaking from the family home in Gaafour, a poor area of Tunisia's Saliana province, his uncle Ali Bin Muhammad Rezgui said: 'He was a sweet boy when he was younger. He was a breakdancer and loved football. He should have had a long, happy life.'

Four Students Arrested for Gang-r*ping a Mentally Disabled Student In School

 Four students led a mentally disabled teenager to a room in their school before carrying out a brutal s*x attack, police have claimed.

 The suspects, who are aged between 15 and 18, are accused of leading the victim to a janitor's closet at their high school, North Miami Senior High, before being caught by a security guard who asked her what was going on.

Court documents say that during the attack the victim was warned to not report the r*pe - however she did, and police arrested the teens.

The suspects are David Lombard, 17, Derek Bynum, 18, Steven Joseph, 15, and Kenoldo Alexis, 17.

The victim was attending a job training initiative at the school before the attack, which took place in January.

Their arrests were hushed up until Thursday, when the Miami Herald released details of the case. 

Female Student Kills Herself after Boyfriend Dumped Her

 Pandemonium and tears at the weekend enveloped Abraka community in Delta State when a 26-year-old microbiology student of the State-owned University identified as Evelyn Mogekwu allegedly killed herself after being jilted by her fiance.

 Investigations revealed that the end of the seven-year relationship traumatised the girl as all plans to walk down the aisle with her boyfriend failed to materialise.

Sources said the girl was in high spirits in her hostel but her mood changed dramatically and she became dejected after her fiance called her on phone to declare their relationship over.

She was said to have bought some drugs, claiming she was having a head ache and went into her room, leaving a message for roommate that they might not see her again.

Few minutes later, her roommate who sensed something terrible was going on, raced into the room and found her lying lifeless on the floor. The roommate then raised an alarm that attracted other students to the room, but before help came the girl’s way, she had given up the ghost.

Confirming the sad incident, some senior police officers at the Abraka Police Division, who did not want their names in print, said they recovered particles of drugs on the ground beside the deceased.

Her roommate are currently being detained by the police for interrogation.

Tragic : Pillar Collapses on car in Shomolu, Kills Driver(Photos)

 This very unfortunate incident happened today somewhere in Somolu, Lagos. According to an eye-witness, just a few seconds after the driver of this car packed, the pillar directly opposite it fell on it, squashing both the driver and the front side of the car. When the driver didn't attempt to come out of the car after the incident, people went closer to the car and found he had been killed by the pillar. The car was later dismantled to get him out.

 Some unknown gunmen on Monday June 22 shot dead the Lagos state Coordinator of The Lord’s Chosen Charis-matic Revival Ministries, Pastor Chukwuemeka Okpokpo, at Apple Junction, Amuwo Odofin area of the state.

 According to reports, the gunmen, in a motorcycle, trailed the pastor from a bank where he had gone to withdraw N3million for the church, fired shots into the air, which sent people scampering for safety.

 Witnesses said Pastor Okpokpo tried to escape when it became obvious that he was the target. He reportedly slowed down on reaching a bad spot in the road, and that was when the hoodlums shot at the tyres of the Chosen vehicle he was driving, which caused the car to stop.

 One of the gunmen then got down from their motorbike, walked to the vehicle and shot Pastor Okpokpo in the stomach. He was said to have waited to ensure that Okpokpo was no longer breathing before he took the nylon bag containing the money, went back to his two colleagues in the motorbike and they all took off.

 Residents were said to have rushed to the scene then raised an alarm when they found out that the victim was wearing the Lord’s Chosen reflective jacket. Some of them were said to have alerted members of the church, who rushed him to the church’s clinic at Ijesha. 

 When news of the tragedy filtered in, those who knew him wept uncontrollably. It was learnt that a prayer session aimed at resurrecting him reportedly took place between 12.30p.m. and 8p.m. Some of the church members thought that the gunmen could have been hired assassins and not robbers.

The Lagos State Police Command said it had begun investigation into the murder.

52-year-old Proprietor R*pes 5-year-old Pupil in Classroom

 The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 52-year-old school teacher, Isaac Ikiabeke, for allegedly r*ping a 5-year-old pupil in the Ikorodu area.

 Ikiabeke, who is the proprietor of the school, Brighter Glory School, located on Etunrere Street, r*ped his victim after school hours.

The victim, five-year-old Pat (not her real name), said Ikiabeke had allegedly raped her 10 times.

She said,

“He has been doing it for some time. He has done it more than 10 times. I am not the only one. He does it with some of us after school hours. I could not tell anybody because he said if I did he would beat me.”

 The victim’s grandfather explained that his attention was drawn to the sexual assault by some of Pat’s classmates.

He said he was shocked, as well as disappointed in Ikiabeke, whom he regarded as a respectable man.

He said,

“Pat and her younger sister stay with me and they attend the school. I never suspected anything initially, except that I observed she would be holding her belly and turning on the bed and when I asked her what happened, she would say she was having stomachache.

“It was one of her classmates that told me what the school owner had been doing to her and I quickly went to report at the station, after which he was arrested.”

The matter  has since been brought to the attention of the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender.

A police source said that they got complaints from two victims.

He said a three-year-old pupil, who was equally r*ped by the suspect, was in a critical condition in a hospital.

He said,

“There were actually two pupils that we were told he raped. The atrocity had been going on for a long time before he was arrested.”

Pat has since been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The police on Monday arraigned Ikiabeke before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court on one count of unlawful sexual intercourse.

The charge read,

“That you, Isaac Ikiabeke, on June 9, 2015, at about 3pm, at Brighter Glory School, Etunrere Street, Ikorodu, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did have unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, (name withheld) aged five years and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 258 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.”

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and elected summary trial.

The case was adjourned till August 10, 2015.

Bizarre : Man Weds Corpse in Ebonyi State

 Now this is just creepy! A strange scenario played out in Ebonyi State over the weekend when a man, Onyema Orji, was forced to officially 'wed' his dead ex-wife so that he could claim his children from her family.

 The incident which happened in Nwakpu community in Ikwo Local Government Area of the state, according to reports, was 'necessary' because Orji had divorced the woman known as Blessing, and she left with their children and later got married to another man.

 After she died from a brief illness, Orji reportedly visited the family with items for her burial ceremony and to take home his children but was told by her family that for him to claim the children, he had to perform the traditional marriage rites on the late Blessing since he had not performed the rites when they were married, and to also enable him claim his kids.

 Orji had no choice but to agree with the conditions so that he could take his children home.

 These men though! Shocking new figures which suggest over 250,000 men in Britain 'want s*x with children' have emerged. The research by the National Crime Agency found that as many as 3% of men could be a potential sex abuser or have an interest in online child porn.

 The NCA's deputy director Phil Gormley told the Mail on Sunday that of those, as many as 250,000 men were "true paedophiles" - attracted to pre-pubescent girls under 12.

He said a new approach was needed to protect children from potential abusers, saying:

"If all we have is arrest and incarceration, that will not help them come forward. Like most people I am shocked by the estimated number who have this interest. It tells us some unhealthy things about human nature."

 The issue of child sex abuse has been thrust violently into the spotlight in recent months and years. In November a self-confessed paedophile outed himself in a television documentary to ask for more help for people sexually attracted to children in a bid to stop them becoming criminals.

 Channel 4's The Paedophile Next Door featured 39-year-old Eddie admitting openly on camera that he has been sexually attracted to girls as young as four since he was in his 20s, but insisting he had never committed a crime.

 Senior police, politicians and child protection groups want to spark debate over the best way to encourage paedophiles to seek assistance before they harm children.

''How i Was Gang R*ped by my Three Most Trusted Friends - Teenager Narrates Ordeal(Photos)

 Three friends Habeeb Adisa (25), Kehinde Aderinoye (25) and Ilyas Ogundimu (27) r*ped one of their female neighbours, a young woman,who was a close friends. This incident happened in a neighbourhood in Iju area of Lagos.

 The victim, 19-year-old Adenike (not real name), a hair stylist, said she summoned the courage to speak about her ordeal because she did not want three friends to go free and do the same to someone else.

 Narrating how she was violated by the three men whom she trusted most in their neighbourhood, Adenike said that there was no way she could have suspected that within the 2 years she had known them, that those 3 could have ever done what they did to her.

Calmly, but with a lot of anger and pain showing in her eyes, Adenike said,

“I became friends with them as neighbours two years ago when my mother first rented an apartment in the area.

 “Kehinde began to make advances to me. But I told him we were friends and did not want to be in a relationship with him. I have always rejected his advances.

 “Later he would tell Habeeb and Ilyas to approach me to appeal on his behalf to accept his proposal, but I made them to understand that I could not go out with him. But we still talked and sat together in the neighbourhood as friends.”

 Unknown to Adenike, the gentle disposition of her three friends was just a façade for the plan they had hatched on how to sexually assault her.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, an opportunity presented itself for the rapist friends to put their plan to work.

Adenike said,

“In the morning of that day, around 9.30am, I went over to Kehinde’s house like I usually did sometimes when I had nothing to do at home. I trusted them completely and usually went there to while away the time.

 “Habeeb and Ilyas were there also. We were just talking when Habeeb suddenly came to me and picked me up. He threw me on the bed and I told him that I didn’t like that kind of play. I said, ‘If this is part of your playful habit I am not up for it.’

 “But as he threw me on the bed, before I could stand up, he lay on me and pinned me down firmly. Kehinde quickly came over and started to remove my underwear. That was when I knew what they wanted to do. I struggled with them but they pinned me down and took turns to rape me.

 “When I was screaming, one of them quickly went to the CD player, which was on at the time and turned on the music to maximum volume so that it would drown out my voice.”

When they finished, the three friends smiled at what they had done. They told Adenike to pretend that what happened to her was a mere sexual encounter.

 “They told me to just forget what happened and keep it between the four of us. But I realised that if I was afraid of stigma and kept it to myself, they would walk free and even boast to their friends about what they did to me. They would surely do it to someone else,” Adenike said.

 Bruised and battered, Adenike summoned the courage to approach someone she trusted in the neighbourhood and narrated what happened to her. She was immediately advised to go to the Iju Police Division and report the incident.

 As soon as she reported, some landlords in the area rose in the men’s defence.

Adenike’s mother said that because the parents of the rapists are landlords in the area, they first threatened her that if she decided to make the issue a police case, she would lose.

But on Thursday, after the police had arrested the suspects, Punch correspondent witnessed as families of the culprits and other residents of the area came out to the police station to beg Adenike’s mother.

Adenike’s case highlights the increasing incidence of sexual offences in Nigeria, where majority of sexual offences go unreported.

On Friday, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Kenneth Nwosu, said  that the suspects had been charged to court.

Stowaway Falls to his Death From British Airways Jet as it Approached Heathrow

 According to The Sun UK, a man believed to be South African fell to his death from a British Airways passenger jet as the plane approached Heathrow airport. The stowaway's body was found on an office block roof of a retail company along a busy road in Richmond, South West London.

 Another man, also believed to be South African, survived the 8,000 mile, 11-hour flight from South Africa to London by holding on to the undercarriage of a British Airways Boeing 747. No one knows how the two men got there.

 The second man was taken to hospital and is said to be in stable condition but is yet to talk to the police.

 A Scotland Yard police spokesman confirmed the incident, saying;

'Police were alerted at 8.28am to reports of a suspected stowaway. A man, aged between 25 and 30, has been taken to West London hospital. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the man's identity".

Rivers State Govt Recovers Vehicle Illegally Acquired by Spokesperson for Amaechi’s Administration(Photos)

 In furtherance of efforts by the Rivers State Government to recover government property from officials of the immediate past administration in the state, security agents and government house officials on Thursday took possession of government vehicle from the home of the former spokesperson for the Amaechi administration, Mrs Ibim Semenitari.

 The security operatives carried out the operation at the home of Mrs Semenitari located at Ernest Ikoli Street, Old GRA Port Harcourt. The operatives recovered a Lexus Armoured Vehicle from the residence. Another Range Rover vehicle is said to have been in the possession of the former Information Commissioner.

 It will be recalled that top officials of the outgone Rotimi Amaechi administration carted away several government property and vehicles prior to May 29. Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has since assured the people of Rivers State that all government property illegally carted away before his inauguration will be recovered and those found to be involved in the illegal act will be brought to justice.

 A few days ago, news broke that former Lagos governor Raji Fashola had fathered a child with Lagos State staff named Biodun Mrcgregor(pictured right) who works for the Lagos state government.

 Reacting to the story,  Fashola's Spokesperson, Akeem Belo described it as ‘mere speculation’ 

"If you check the report by The Capital who has been on the case for a while very well, you will see that it was a mere speculation, no proof other than speculation. How do you determine the father of a child on mere speculation? What investigation was done? I won’t comment on mere speculation or dignify a mere speculation, it is not worth it’ he told Newsontheblog.

 Pressed further to give a categorical ‘yes’ or 'no' answer, Belo said he won’t dignify speculation with an emphatic ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.

How Armed Gang Snatched Guy's Car Using Lady who Pretended to be in Distress

 Found this story on Nigeria Police's Facebook page, happened yesterday about a recent car snatching incident...

 On 24.05.2015 at about 8:30pm, one male person (name withheld) of Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State reported to Police in Osogbo that as he was driving through Iwo Road, Osogbo, Osun State and at a point known as Onibueja area, a Lady standing beside a Honda Accord car flagged him down and requested for his assistance 

on a flat tire. 

 The man further stated that he brought out his car jack and as he was about handing same to the lady, she brought out a gun and pointed same at him. That three other male accomplices came out of their hiding and snatched his Toyota Venza car from him.

Buhari Must Start His Administration by Jailing Thieves – Kokori Says

 Human rights activist, Chief Frank Kokori, says the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, should start his administration by prosecuting and jailing looters as soon as he's sworn in on May 29.

 Kokori, who is a former General Secretary of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, said this on Thursday.

The activist said by immediately prosecuting looters, Nigerians would have an idea of what the Buhari administration stands for and change would gradually set in. He said, 

“You cannot change everything in four years but when Nigerians start seeing little changes in three to six months and then in one year and you see people being prosecuted and jailed for stealing public funds, and the government ensures that all the funds that were taken overseas are recovered, there is no way the needed change will not come.  

 “Why should Nigeria have up to $250bn in stolen funds abroad and only $35bn in our foreign reserves? The international community is aware of this and the incoming government is not foolish. Anybody that thinks he has stolen and will go scot free must be deceiving himself because if any thief goes scot free, then the All Progressives Congress-led government is not serious. 

 “So, the APC government must make sure that Nigerians that stole money are prosecuted and jailed while the money should be retrieved. Nobody should run a government by saying you will forget the past, no. The way Nigeria is today, people must be punished for the pains they have subjected Nigerians to.”

Convicted s*x Offender Declared Innocent After 29 YEARS in Jail due to Mistaken Identity

 What a pity! Michael McAlister (pictured right) has spent 29 years in prison for r*pes he didn't commit but was locked up because he had an uncanny resemblance to the man, Norman Bruce Derr (left) who committed the crimes.

According to UK mirror reports; 

An innocent man who spent 29 years behind bars after being convicted of an attempted rape and kidnapping has finally been given his freedom. Michael McAlister was cleared after a serial rapist who had an uncanny resemblance to the 58-year-old at the time confessed to the 1986 offence. He was granted an unconditional pardon by Virginia's governor, wiping away the prosecution which he had campaigned against for decades alongside family and friends.

After clearing McAlister (pictured above now), governor Terry McAuliffe said in a written statement:

"A number of individuals in the law enforcement community [...] have concluded that this crime was committed by another individual, and that Mr McAlister should be freed to return to his family and his community.

"I have reached the same conclusion, and I have acted in accordance with the law."

Upon being reunited with his sister and elderly mother outside Dillwyn Correctional Centre, McAlister said that the governor was a 'special man' for giving him his freedom.

He told reporters: "It’s a great day. It’s a wonderful day. Governor McAuliffe, he’s a special man for being brave enough to do this."

McAlister added that his thoughts were with the victim of the attack.

He said: "It wasn’t her fault, and I don’t hold any hard feelings at all toward her. I hope [the attacker] can deal with his issues as best he can."

McAlister was 29 and working as a carpenter when he was identified by the victim in court.

The victim, a 22-year-old mum, was assaulted in the laundry room of an apartment complex on February 23, 1986.

But she was able to partially pull her attacker's stocking mask off during the attack, and caught a glimpse of his face.

At the time, McAlister was known by police following a string of alcohol-related incidents of public indecency.

He was misidentified after a police sketch resembled his face, which helped lead to his wrongful conviction.

 Shawn Armbrust, executive director of the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, and James Bensfield and Jonathan Kossak of the Miller & Chevalier law firm, said in a joint statement: "We are thrilled that the governor did the right thing and finally ended this nightmare."
