Despite her absence or disappearance from Nollywood movies for a long while, screen diva Dakore Egbuson Akande left a footprint and an indelible mark that cannot be replaced easily.She was loved by majority for by dreadlocks identity and her classiness on screen.She is Married to Olumide, son of Ibadan-born billionaire, Chief Harry Akande, she recounts their meeting and marital journey to Punch

“We met in Lagos. I just relocated from London and he just returned from Chicago. We got talking because he wanted me to present a television show. I did not get the job but I did get the dude. It was work-related but we found out we connected. We were friends for a while before we started dating. Then, I was not out for a date.

I liked him for his confidence and he gave me my space too. He was a real gentleman and well-spoken. When it was time for the engagement, I knew it would happen, but I did not know when. I knew what it was like to make a mistake because my parents were not together and I needed to be sure. I was career driven but not driven about marriage.

On the proposal

“The proposal was really nice. He got down on his knees and proposed and people were emotional. Shortly after that, we got married. We had Ayomide, our first daughter, who is now three, and Dasola, who is 10 months old now.”

On the rumours

They peddled all sorts of stories-His parents did not like me and that I quit acting. But it’s not possible that I would be married if my father-in-law did not like me. I was not even 40 years old yet and people started calling me an ex-actress. It was hard for me! But I decided to live my life and I stopped paying attention to maintain my sanity. How could anyone think I would quit my job because I got married? They said this because I married into a wealthy family, but I still have my purpose and goals that I want to achieve.”

On Challenges

“Celebrity marriages are not different. The only reason is that people are looking at you. The challenges are the same but are amplified in celebrity marriages. That puts a lot of pressure on the union. The first thing is to marry your friend. You have to marry for the right reason. I married for love; someone I am totally in awe of and respect. It is difficult, but when you have God, there is a balance that comes with it. It is fun and challenging. It is easy to get frustrated but people need to remember their vows.”

On cutting her dreadlocks

“I made up my mind that I wanted to wear dreadlocks, and when I was tired of it, I decided to cut it. My husband did not want me to cut my hair; he wanted our children to meet me with the hair. I dance to the beat of my own drum and my path is different from every other person’s. I have my own mind; if I let people shape my opinions of myself, I will not be authentic to myself.”

According to new reports Janet Jackson, 46, stands to receive $500 million if she stays married to her billionaire fiance, Wissam Al Manna, 37, for a minimum of five years.

Janet did not put off her New Year’s Eve wedding because of cold feet but because of cold cash, a friend has revealed.

The singer was due to marry Arab multi-billionaire Wissam Al Mana but their lawyers could not organise the prenuptial agreement in time.

This is no small matter as twice-married Janet has amassed a fortune of £93.5million from 10 hit albums and six major tours while Wissam is one of the richest investors in the Middle East where he represents such fashion and style icons as Hermes and Sonia Rykiel. He is also a major shareholder in Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait.

“Janet will be marrying into the sort of wealth not even her brother Michael managed to amass during his lifetime of success,” said her friend. “She’s looking forward to a fairytale life with Wissam.”

Should the fairytale turn sour then the agreement still being worked on is reported to guarantee Janet, 46, a “kiss-off” of half-a-billion dollars (around £312.14million) if they divorce after a minimum of five years.

“About my marriage, it has been going through crisis which I prefer not to talk about that is why I have kept it away from the public to wave off controversies. I am no longer in my marriage; we are separated. I have two wonderful children – a ten year old daughter and a seven year old son. They are an integral part of my life; their mum and I have a very good arrangement on how to balance their lives to make sure that psychologically they are stable and unaffected by our separation.”

 The model and her fiance Wiz Khalifa are thought to be expecting their first child in January 2013 and Amber wants to move up their wedding date to October to avoid getting married when she is heavily pregnant, according to MediaTakeOut.com.

Rapper Wiz proposed to Kanye West's former girlfriend earlier this year and although the pregnancy was a surprise, the pair are said to be thrilled about the baby and are already making a number of lifestyle changes to prepare.

A source told RadarOnline: "Amber and Wiz unexpectedly got pregnant, but they're really happy to be starting a family together"."Amber's already had to make some big lifestyle changes, like not smoking cigarettes anymore. As a model she's used to having a thin waist, so this is going to be an adjustment for her."

Speaking about the proposal previously, Wiz revealed he showed Amber the "real" him when he popped the question.

He said: "[It was] real simple. It was in the morning time. I just rolled out of bed and got the ring out of the laundry room. Didn't brush my teeth. I was sober, I gave her the real me.

"I didn't cry. But she was crying so much she didn't know what to do. I was like, 'Say something, yo! I didn't let her take time to think about. Knew she was going to say yes."
