Taylor Swift & Calvin Harris Beat Beyonce & Jay Z as World's highest paid celebrity couple

British Calvin Harris and American Taylor  Swift are the couple to beat. Since the relationship between the pair has become official, Beyonce and Jay Z have officially been dethroned as the world's highest paid celebrity couple.

According to Forbes, the couple are the highest earning couple with combined earnings of $146 million over the last year..

They earned $35.5 million more than Bey and Jay Z, whom came in second with $110.5 million..third place is Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, with combined earnings of $57 million.

Abudu, who has been described by international news outlets as ‘Africa’s Africa’, is keen in her resolve to rewrite Africa’s story. And it’s time you took notice. In a recent email interview, she recounts her entrepreneurial journey and reflects on the lessons she has learned along the way. Some excerpts from the magazine includes the following:

My passion to help change the narrative about Africa began to grow as far back as when I was a teenager living in the UK, schooling in Tunbridge Wells in Kent, a town that had just a few blacks at the time. As I have said many times in the past, here, I had to learn to stand up for myself, to defend my identity and my race in an environment where you continually got asked the most ridiculous and mind-boggling questions like “Do you guys live in trees and holes in Africa?” “Do you guys dance around fires?” “What do you eat for breakfast?” Very ignorant questions. Those sort of questions could either make or break your spirit but I was very determined that I was going to stay strong. This kind of afro-pessimism simply fuelled a burning, deep-seated desire in my subconscious to one day help to rewrite the African story; to get people to talk about the issues that affect our society and to tell the African narrative in a contemporary and interesting way; to change the perception the world had of us; to let the world know that in spite of our challenges as a developing continent, Africans are not a bunch of savages but mostly a breed of gifted and remarkable people. So, after my education and a flourishing modelling career in the UK, I returned to Nigeria in my late twenties. My children had reached their teens; I had begun enjoying a successful career as Head of Human Resources and Administration for oil giant, Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (ExxonMobil).

Dr Dre tops Forbes Highest Earning Hiphop Artists List 2014

Who would have predicted such a wide margin in terms of earnings from a single year between the top earners of Hiphop artist in 2014?  Dr Dre has overtaken Pdiddy and Jay Z as the hip hop cash king after he made a whooping $620m from his $3billion Beats by Dre sale to apple.
According to Forbes, his annual earnings for the 12 months between June 2013 and 2014 are the highest of any musician in any genre it has ever evaluated. Nicki Minaj just fell outside the top earners at the number 11th position, she is the first woman on the list.

Forbes World’s Highest Paid Musicians For 2012

Forbes has released its list of highest-paid musicians and unsurprisingly, the top spot this year is not held by a popstar or rock band, but a doctor – of beats. Aftermath Records CEO, rapper and beat maker, Dr. Dre earned a cool $110 million between May 2011 and May 2012 to earn that enviable position. However, most of that paycheck had nothing to do with the production of music, though as he earned the vast majority of it from his über-trendy headphone line, Beats by Dre.

Others leading the pack: Roger Waters (a founding member of Pink Floyd) with $88 million, Elton John with $80 million, U2 with $78 million and Take That with $69 million. Now that’s a top 5 with just one American and none of them’s currently in the top 10 of the Billboard singles chart.

Bonjovi comes in at 6th with $60 million. Britney Spears, the highest-earning woman, comes in at No. 7 with $58 million. Taylor Swift tied Paul McCartney for the eighth slot. Both raked in $57 million over the course of the year.

Other hotshots: Justin Bieber rounds out the top 10 with $55 million, Rihanna lands at No. 12 ($53 million) and is followed by Lady Gaga ($52 million), Katy Perry and Diddy tied for 15th ($45 million) and Beyonce out-earned husband Jay-Z ($40 million and $38 million). Adele and Kanye West hold the joint spot at No. 22 with $35 million.
