Sad : Kate Henshaw Loses Everything In House Fire(Photos)

 While actress Kate Henshaw was on location shooting the 'Do-Good' TV series, she was called by her neighbours to inform her that her house was on fire.

The house which burnt is Kate's Lekki phase one apartment. 

Reports are saying that Kate Henshaw quickly went home after the phone call and called fire fighters, but at that point, the damage had already been done as the twin duplex was burnt.  According to witnesses at the scene, Kate Henshaw was said to have lost all the things she worked for in the house.

Kate is currently living in temporary quarters and is yet to resume shooting her TV show.

"My Mum Was Against My Political Ambition" - Kate Henshaw Reveals

 Nollywood actress turned politician Kate Henshaw in a new interview with DailyTrust revealed that her mum's reaction when she first heard Kate was going into politics this year. Read Excerpts from the interview below:

 Weekend Magazine: How did your family and friends respond when you said you wanted to become a politician?

Kate Henshaw:

My mum said ‘no way’. I told her to pray for me and she said she wasn’t going to, so I told her I’d pray for myself. Some cousins of mine in Calabar then called her and told her to encourage me, that what I want to do is good. She told them someone else should go into it, and they asked her why someone else should. They told her I should do it 

because it would be good for the state. She finally agreed. 

Friends have also been supportive. They say I’m strong. They also say this is my kind of thing because I fight for people. But they advised me to be careful because politics is dirty. I told them the only way things will get better is if good people get inside. One can only change things if inside, not from the outside. 

I’m gunning for the House of Reps representing Akpabio Bakassi federal constituency. During my campaign, one thing I know for sure is that I’m not going to promise heaven and earth. When you promise too much, you are may end up not doing anything and that becomes a problem.

WM: Entertainers are gravitating towards politics in droves. Some say it is because it is seen as ‘where the money is”. What do you feel about this?

Kate Henshaw:

There’s nothing wrong with entertainers going into politics. Doctors go into it, people without certificates go into it, so why shouldn’t an entertainer do so? It is a right. As long as they are credible and will do the work they say they will, give them a chance.

 Actress, Kate Henshaw has picked up her nomination form to represent the Calabar Municipal/Odukpani Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

''I'm Taking 8 Years Break From Acting To Face Politics'' - Nollywood Actress Says

 Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw, has revealed she plans to take a break from acting to face politics squarely. When asked if she's quitting acting for politics in an interview with Sahara TV, Ms Henshaw said:

"Well, Well, I will take a break to serve the larger population of Nigeria. I won't quit. Arnold Schwarzenegger was Governor and he is back to acting again. You take time off,you serve your people. I don't hope to be there forever. I just want to do, make noise, leave when the ovation is loudest. That's the best way. Yeah ...I don't want to be there for 10 years, 12 years, 16 years, that's the best way. I want to do other things. 4-8 years, that's the limit you can hold me to my word." 

Asked if she won't want to exceed the 4-8 years duration, Kate said:

"There has to be another person, who will go through the process, who would want to try. That's the problem. Too many people stay in one place for so long and other people just lose hope and say why would I even bother. So let someone start getting the knowledge. I would help whoever is in the Cross River state to come with me, go through the process, meet the elders, whoever...get ready to take your chair because nobody is going to come and pick you. You have to push your head inside there" she said

Asked if she has gathered enough money to pursue her political ambition, Kate said

"There is no money. I can't match the people who have been in the system for 20, 30 years. I am going with God and my heart" she said

Asked if she will share money as most Nigerian Politicians do, Kate said:

"I'm not sharing money. If you continue sharing money, it will never stop. If you want a change, a true change, then vote for me and you will see the change. But if you want money, hey, go for money and stay where you are and don't even complain" she said

Kate declared her intention contest for the Federal House or Representatives for Calabar Municipal/Odunkpani Federal Constituency under the PDP on July 19th
