 Earlier today, a fan on twitter asked telecoms giant MTN why they dropped Wizkid, Sean Tizzle & Timaya as ambassdors. Read their reply below...

 “Although there is a finite number of brand ambassadors we can have at any point in time, Nigerian artistes can continue to monetise their intellectual works through our distribution channels such as the Caller Tunez and Music Plus platforms. As was originally conceptualised, the ambassador ship will continually evolve to accommodate new talents and cater for diverse segments.

 This year, we are using a segmented approach and there will be ambassadors for each segment of our market. Using this criteria, new artistes like Cobhams Asuquo will be coming on board the MTN Ambassadorial family. In May 2015, stars including Davido, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, Sound Sultan, Iyanya, Chidinma, BankyW, KCee as well as Saka, Osuofia, Mama Geeand others all renewed their contracts with MTN.

Don Jazzy Shuts Down GLo Deal Rumours, Renews Contract With MTN

It was rumored that Don Jazzy has ported to Glo from Mtn for a very lucrative offer, however, the Mavin Boss has squashed all rumours by renewing his contract with MTN.

The leader of the supreme Mavin dynasty has now joined MMMG lead act, Iyanya who also renewed his contract yesterday.

The contract extension makes it Don Jazzy’s third consecutive year as an ambassador of the telco giant.

Doro Boss as he’s widely called, took to Instagram to thank fans for their support.

He posted a picture of himself while signing the new deal with the caption: “Contract renewed. 3rd year and counting. Na #Godwin. Thanks to u guys, cos if I don’t have u dem no go dey sign me. #MTN #SMD”
