Drake Follows Wizkid on Instagram after listening to his Ojuelegba song

Nigerian artists are getting a lot of international exposure since they started doing collaboration with top international acts. After listening to a smashing song by Wizkid titled "Ojuelegbe", US rapper Drake starts following the Nigeria hitmaker on Instagram and even captioned one of his photos with lyrics from the song.

Why I Signed With Glo - Wizkid Opens Up

 Popular singer Wizkid, has shed light on the circumstances surrounding his new endorsement deal with Nigeria’s telecommunications giant, Globacom.

 In a statement released in Lagos by his Manager, Mr. Sunday Are, Wizkid said Globacom is a brand he had admired for a very long time considering its strong persona and its very massive impact and image in the entertainment industry in Nigeria.

Glo dumps Naeto C, Lynxxx as brand Ambassadors, Signs Wizkid

 Just yesterday, MTN announced that they had dropped Wizkid, Timaya and Sean Tizzle, D'Prince as their brand ambassadors. But according to latest reports, Wizkid actually moved to Globacom 4 weeks ago after complaining that MTN was delaying payment and mostly because Glo offered him more to be their ambassador. He signed a 2-year deal with Glo said to be over N100million.

 Rappers Naeto C and Lynxxx have been dropped by the telecoms giant. Some ambassadors were dropped because Glo wanted to bring in more guys so they needed to decongest. I hear comedian Bovi, AY, Yoruba actor Odunlade Adekola and actor OC Ukeje have also joined Glo.

 Earlier today, a fan on twitter asked telecoms giant MTN why they dropped Wizkid, Sean Tizzle & Timaya as ambassdors. Read their reply below...

 “Although there is a finite number of brand ambassadors we can have at any point in time, Nigerian artistes can continue to monetise their intellectual works through our distribution channels such as the Caller Tunez and Music Plus platforms. As was originally conceptualised, the ambassador ship will continually evolve to accommodate new talents and cater for diverse segments.

 This year, we are using a segmented approach and there will be ambassadors for each segment of our market. Using this criteria, new artistes like Cobhams Asuquo will be coming on board the MTN Ambassadorial family. In May 2015, stars including Davido, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, Sound Sultan, Iyanya, Chidinma, BankyW, KCee as well as Saka, Osuofia, Mama Geeand others all renewed their contracts with MTN.

I got Pregnant For Wizkid When I just Started Having S*x – Babymama

Wizkid's babymama, Oluwanishola Ogudugu, now 23 shared her some of her motherhood hard-times to mark this year's Children's day. She opened-up she was pregnant at 19 with just few months away from graduation at the North American University, Houdegbe, Benin Republic was too much to deal with for Sola Ogudugu.

She is the mother of the only known four-year-old son of popular singer, Ayodeji Balogun otherwise known as Wizkid.

We were just there, we were never friends- Skales talks about Twitter fight with Wizkid

As 'shake body' hitman,  Skales is preparing to lunch his first studio album, he talks about his infamous Tweeter fight with Wizkid. He told the Net Ng they were never really friends in the first place .

Let’s talk about your recent twitter spat with Wizkid, you guys were together at an event some hours before you went online, what really happened?
The truth is, we were not really together, we were just at the same venue at the same event that’s all, and really, whatever needs to be said now has already been said on twitter so you can pick everything there, right now I’ve put the whole episode behind me. I just want people to focus more on my music, it’s life human beings must always fallout.

Let’s go back to your time at E.M.E, what kind of relationship did you have with Wizkid?
We were just there, we were cool. For me it was just about making music, that’s what brought us together in the first place, it’s not like we are from the same family, so let’s just focus on the music which was what I did, if I had something on my mind I always say it out.

At what point did you guys really fall out?
We never really fell out, the relationship we had has always been about music, it’s not like we are brothers, we are not from the same family like I said, it was just business and music, so we were cool, and even till now we are still cool, I have no bad blood against him, I just want to face my music right now, I’m about to drop my album and that’s all that matters to me right now.

How long have you been trying to get Wizkid to work with you?
For as long as every other person has been trying I guess (laughs), we know that he’s a busy person and I’m a busy person too, I’m doing my own thing too. The truth is, I really don’t want to talk about it.

Will you consider working with Wizkid anytime soon?
I don’t know, fingers crossed.

"I'm Not Bothered That People Think I Am Arrogant" - Wizkid Says

 Encomium mag caught up award winning singer Wizkid, and he revealed that he doesn't care if people think he is arrogant, that he doesn't love everybody and so doesn't expect everybody to love him. Read excerpt below....

Asked if it bothers him that people think he's arrogant, Wizkid said;

"Bother me? Never! I am not bothered. Honestly I don't hear people saying it because anytime I go out, I show my fans great love. I do my thing. I don't have problem with that because I don't love everybody as well. So I don't expect everybody to love me too. That's life".

Asked if he is terrible person, Wizkid said;

"Terrible? Everyone has opinion about people. But when they say Wizkid is terrible, you need to ask them, "Why is Wizkid a terrible person? What did he do? For four years, I was making music with Samklef, everyone knew his house. I was going up and down, shouting, Samklef Nor Ni. That's me, I am just trying to be a good person. Whereas everyone cannot like you and everyone cannot hate you" he said.

Asked if fame has in anyway changed him, Wizkid said

"No, fame has not changed Wizkid. The only thing fame has changed in Wizkid is that I added some accessories. I have got nice chains, watches, and nice clothes. Asides that, I am still Wizkid. I no tall, still same height".

He also reacted to his recent controversy with singer Saeon,

"Oh really? She's bitter about it. I didn't see the allegation but I gave her hit song. I no try? I did my part. I was in the studio with her, gave her hit song. I no try. That's not even how much I charge for collaboration, I charge N10 million. I collected N1.5 million from her because of love. I was busy, I didn't want to do it" he said.

Asked about the comment that he doesn't charge those he loves, Wizkid said;

"Yeah I don't charge people I love. I said so but when someone is on your neck everyday for a collaboration and she offers you money, won't you collect it? If you fail to collect it, they start calling you terrible person. I am just trying to be a good guy".

On his fashion sense, Wizkid said;

"Fresh! Am I not looking fresh? I have always loved chains a lot. For me, I also see chains as investment because they ar gold and diamond. You can always sell anything gold and diamond. It is like an investment for me".

On why he loves to flaunt his accessories on social media, Wizkid said;

"You know now. I didn't have accessories when I started my career. Did you see me wearing bling-bling when I did Hola at your boi? No! I hustled to get money to buy them and there is no crime if I show it or flaunt it to my fans because they gave me money to buy them" he said.

On where he invests his money, Wizkid said;

"I will say property but most importantly Jewelry. Do you know how much I can sell this chain on my neck when I get broke, God forbid? It's money and to me it's investment. I don't spend money on foolish things. I spend moderately. Besides I am a grown man. I have problems too. I have a child I am taking care of. I have responsibilities, believe it or not" he said.

Asked if he is expecting another child, Wizkid said;

"Expecting wetin? Did I tell you I am expecting a child? Yes I didn't tell you guys when I was expecting my first child because people wanted to kill me but Honestly, nothing like that I am not expecting any child now"

Asked if he is getting married anytime soon, Wizkid hissed and said "Wedding? No".

Olamide defends Wizkid over excessive collaboration charges

Wizkid is really having bad press these days. It seems he is in the bad book of so many people these days. He is in the eye of the storm over issues bordering on attitude and excessive collaboration charges from fellow artistes, Samklef and lately Saeon, rapper, Olamide has leapt to Wizkid’s defence.

The female singer in a recent instagram post allege that Wizkid was paid #1.5 million to feature on her song ‘Boogie down’ and he couldn’t even acknowledge her with a retweet about the song when it was released.
With the news going viral, fans have been seeking out other artistes who have featured Wizkid on songs, asking them how much they paid Wizkid probably in order to know where to place the blame.

A few minutes ago, a fan tweeted at Olamide asking the Bariga born rapper who raps in Yoruba language, him how much he paid Wizkid to feature on his 2011 hit single, ‘Omo to shan.’
In a manner reflecting maturity but which might not be the actual truth, Olamide replied saying:

‘He did it for free .. Let my nigga be great.’

Samklef wants to auction off all wizkid Instrumental he produced

It seems the beef between Samklef and Wizkid is getting worse by the day.After granting interview where he claims he regrets working with his person, he has decided to auction off wizkid instrumental (for the songs he was involved in) to anyone interested. Fame Has Changed Wizkid - Singer's Former Producer Samklef Blast

 Music producer Samklef is far from happy with popular singer Wizkid. He made this known in a recent interview. 

 Remember that Samklef produced Wizkid's hit single Tease Me and five other songs in Wizkid's first album, despite the album success, Samklef revealed that the superstar singer has not only refused to work with him again, he's also going about dissing his talent. 

 "I'm not happy with Wizkid. I like his music, but I don't like him as a person anymore. The reason I don't like him anymore is, why do you go about spoiling other people's business? I never spoiled your business, never came out to say anything bad about you for four years. So why would you go to an OAP and tell the OAP that the reason why you no longer work with me is because my beat is amateur.

 What does that mean? Those amateur beats was what brought you to limelight, was what made you meet the same Akon who first dropped 'Don't Dull' on your voice." Samklef said. 

 I never downgraded him. I showed him love. I used to go to his house...but he never came to mine. He doesn't know my house. He hasn't even seen my son before. It means he doesn't regard me as a friend.

 I wanted to feature him in one of my songs but this guy kept posting me for years. That's not even why I am angry. I am angry because he's going about disrespecting my talent. Saying these things in public. It is annoying.

"I'm doing fine without Wizkid. I don't want to say I regret working with him but I'm thanking God that we are all alive. But ask him, the people you are going to feature in America, if they were like you, would you meet them?

"I wish him luck. I don't regret working with his talent, I only regret working with his person. His fame took him away. He forgot where he was coming from. His person is very disgusting. There's something we call the grace of God. Before Wizkid got to where he is today, somebody gave him a front line, somebody introduced him. He didn't just come from anywhere. Making music is not just about one person. Banky was there to give him the front line and others came to help out. I'm not the only one complaining, other producers are complaining. I don't want to call names but nobody is saying anything good about Wizkid and you call yourself a superstar when you keep matching other people down. What is the star about you? Is it because you are featuring other foreign artists? You are not the first to do that, others have done that before so why are you carried away?

"I don't want to do anything with Wizkid anymore. Keep it to yourself, keep your name. I have new friends and new family. But he can continue talking. We are listening. I don't wish him bad. He says my beat is amateur but watch out for Samklef." He concluded.
