''I Support My Mum's Divorce From My Dad'' - Pastor Chris Oyahkhilome's Daughter Says
With the divorce suit filed by Anita Oyakhilome against her husband Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the President of Christ Embassy church, soon to be finalised, it seems the couple's daughter Sharon Oyakhilome, has taking sides with her mother.
She took to Twitter to post a cryptic message which seemingly appears to support her mother’s divorce decision.
Her tweets appear to be similar to the case Rev. Anita Oyakhilome cited in the divorce papers where she stated that her husband had been away for the most part of their marriage.
In Defence of Anita Oyakhilome the FRustrated Wife:
“Anita Oyakhilome, the frustrated wife of Nigeria’s most flamboyant preacher, Chris Oyakhilome has obviously passed through 15 years of adulterous endurance and what she needs is our prayers and protective respect and defense of her choices to forget all the anti-rhapsody of heartbreak she endured all these years.
Fifteen (15) years of being abandoned by a preacher husband is not an easy way of lifefor a preacher’s wife. Fifteen (15) years of hearing that some mini skirted daughters of Jezebel have taken over your possession is not a joke. Fifteen years of a husband not staying with the wife for up to a week on a stretch, while spending time with some double breasted figure eight(ed) daughters of eve is not an easy thing to swallow. 15 years of being used as a showcase to make church members believe in Rhapsodies of Blissful Union, while dying in silence,is not a palatable experience for any woman.
Fifteen years of being called Mama, Mummy, and other glorified names of Senior Pastor’swife while some domestic harems sneer at the same Mummy behind is not a sweet experience. For goodness sake, this woman never probably had a good kiss in fifteen years and yet she is being accused of carnality for crying out loud. She was continually being led into temptation of seeking for sexual satisfaction from outside for fifteen years and she managed to escape the traps of sin.
Fifteen years when their two lovely daughters would wake up and ask their mother why Dad had not cared to visit, and she would have to release a lie to stave off the frequent probing questions. Above all, fifteen years when Anita had to fake that all is well with their marriage, while she is actually dying emotionally. Every person she complained to among the pastoral cadre sided with the man, and she was left alone to bear her cross.
I warned some pastor friends with Christ Embassy early 2013 that they had better settle this marriage rift between Oga and his wife before it destroys the church. The same pastors have called me to express regret that a national embarrassment has ensued.
This woman has been called Jezebel by some pastors and members of the church. Some claimed she was disrespectful while others claimed she was always bitter of recent.
They have tried to castigate her before members of the church who came in private to ask for the way out. She was described as unreasonable and insubordinate.
Her husband, according to news reports has even followed to cast her in a bad light. According to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, “Bitterness is prolonged and accumulate danger. My wife is always angry and bitter,” Going further he told his members to “Be careful of the friends you keep. My wife keeps friends who bring out the worst in her and help her see the worst in people, instead of keeping friends that will help her vision, especially as the wife of a global pastor like me.”
Please, which preacher woman who has been abandoned for fifteen years will not be bitter and angry? Was Anita expected to clap and dance while some hot legs are parading around the White House?
This pastor’s wife was also disclaimed by her husband who told his congregants in reaction to the divorce saga that Anita is not necessarily a Woman of God.According to Pastor Oyakhilome “Don’t act like those people. If you are married to a man of God, it doesn’t make you automatically mature. You can make mistakes; you can do something that is wrong. But some people expect the wife of a minister to definitely be at the level of that minister and so they may be looked upon and the expectation may be like that, but it’s a positional thing”.He clarified his theory by saying that “If a man of God is married, it doesn’t automatically mean that the wife of a man of God is therefore a woman of God.
"That’s not the way it is in the Bible.” Pastor Chris also added that “That’s why you don’t really find the wives of men of God mentioned in the Bible. How many of them? Who was Peter’s wife, did you ever know her name? You never find that out. Who was John’s wife? Did you ever read the name? What about all theother Apostles? How many of their names are written in the Bible. You never find their names.”
Anita Oyakhilome actually proved that she has fear of God in the manner she worded her divorce plea. She opted to use the word “inappropriate relationship with female staff members” instead of out rightly accusing her husband of adultery.According to the statement, “the wife has discussed with the husband his appropriate relationship with some of his female staff members. She has explained that this has given her cause for concern. The husband has minimised her worries and taken no step to alleviate her grievances.”
Anita Oyakhilome could have said that her husband abandoned her and ran into the arms of sister A or B, or gospel singer C or D and left her roasting and murmuring in the house. Anita could have said that her husband is a hypocrite who says a thing and means another, but she veiled her grievances of years of abandonment by saying in the divorce file that “The wife feels that she has been used to portray and enhance the husband’s image as a family man when the reality is that there is no existing relationship between them. She feels that she has been present for official functions simply for his convenience.
On occasions she has been copied into his travel itinerary which has been given to him by his staff on a need to know basis”. “The wife has tried to discuss her concernswith the husband. He claims that she is carnal and he is insensitive to her feelings and her needs.”
Thus Anita had acted with much restraint in order to preserve the integrity of Christ Embassy and the work of evangelism, and all she got for her discretion was hate messages all many sections of church members who wanted her to sacrifice her marriage to keep them in a rhapsody of deceit.
This woman, according to the testimony of many British residents who attend their church, is one person who is always willing to give gifts to the needy. She is ever ready to counsel people and does not breed class. She is a patient listener who laboriously introduced many things in the church for which the glory goes to her husband. Londoners believe that she is not that demon theywant to portray her as. Those who know her closely have attested to an affectionate good naturedness and stickler for details.
Whatsoeverthing some misguided church members want to think, Anita had lived a lie formany years. Anita was said to have became born again at believers Loveworldcampus fellowship at Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, while Chris was thepastor. She had probably paid her dues as a Christian and knows what it is todeceive the congregation. She cannot deceive herself and the church anymorethus she opted for divorce. Divorce, according to scripture is unbiblical, but between deceiving a congregation that already knows the truth but pretends otherwise and staying in unfulfilled marriage, which is better. It is a matter between her and her conscience.
Last year, a Nigerian personality blogger by name Ese Walter was lured by her Senior Pastor in Abuja into a cozy hotel bed space in London and after two weeks of adultery, the man cleaned up, returned to Nigeria and told his congregation to shout some Hallelujah. The sin partner was arrested by the Holy Spirit and she sought a meeting with the COZA Chief to resolve the burden of guilt. She was continually shunned and described as agent of satan even by other senior pastors in the church until she turned the internet into the confessional. Ese Walter freed her conscience and probably escaped eternal damnation but the entire Christendom took the brunt of the exposure.
Anita has chosen to free herself from a life of deceit and lies. The truth had set her free. However, I still counsel her that if the misbehaving preacher husband demonstrates a verifiable change of heart, she should consider him back and so that somebody can shout some more Hallelujah. Fifteen years of adulterous endurance in the midst of charismatic rhapsody is not easy and Anita Oyakhilome sure needs all the defense and understanding she can get.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Reportedly Removed As Trustee Of Church’s U.K. Branch
The face-off between the Founder of Believers Love World(aka Christ Embassy) Chris Oyakhilome, and his soon to be ex-wife, Anita, has taken a new dimension.
According to an exclusive report on PremiumTimes, Mr. Oyakhilome is no longer a trustee of the United Kingdom’s branch of the church.
With Mr. Oyakhilome’s removal, his wife, Anita, now presides over a seven-man Board of Trustees of the N8.2 billion rich branch, church documents reviewed by PREMIUM TIMES have shown. The six other members of the board are:
Obi Chiemeka,
Ifeoma Onubogu,
Nkem Odiakah,
Raymond Okocha,
Tony Obi and
Uche Onubogu.
All pastors believed to be loyal to Mrs. Oyakhilome.
All pastors believed to be loyal to Mrs. Oyakhilome.
Mrs. Oyakhilome has for long headed the U.K branch of the church but her husband, before what appears his sudden removal, had since inception presided over the Board of Trustees of the charity.
The new development suggests that in addition to the matrimonial squabble the couples are having, an intense power struggle and battle for the soul of the U.K. branch of the church might be going on between the estranged lovers and partners as well.
In fact, Mr. Oyakhilome had dropped the first hint that there might be a hierarchical row in the church when he reportedly accused his wife of acting like an equal and wanting to overpower the authorities of the elders she met in the church.
PREMIUM TIMES’ review of documents filed by the church’s UK branch to the Charity Commission of England and Wales has now shown that Mr. Oyakhilome is no longer a registered trustee of a branch of his church with total asset worth over N8.2 billion (£31 million). Until he was recently abruptly removed, Mr. Oyakhilome was consistently listed as a prominent trustee since 1996, when the branch was established.
Contrary to the church’s practice of stating reasons for removal of trustees in the past, no reason has been given for the removal of Pastor Oyakhilome. It is unclear whether explanation for the action would be given in the church’s annual report for 2013 which is yet to made public by the charity commission.
According to the church’s financial statement, in 2009, five pastors were removed from the church’s board of trustees after they resigned from their positions and two others were appointed. A Charity Commission spokesperson, Sarah Hitchings, told PREMIUM TIMES that it was not the concern of the commission to know why charities remove or replace their trustees.
The international office of Christ Embassy refused to respond to questions this newspaper sent through email neither did the international audit and accounting firm, Mazars, appointed by the Charity Commission to run the affairs of the church after it opened statutory inquiry into the finances of the church following suspicious payment it made to connected parties worth N941 million between 2008 and 2012.
However, church insiders said the removal of the pastor was a plot by his wife to take total control of the affairs of the branch even as her relationship with her husband of two decades deteriorates. With his ouster, those who should know said Mr. Oyakhilome has lost the locus to interfere in the affairs of that branch of the church.
“He has been effectively sidelined,” a church insider said. “The law in the U.K. does not recognise him as an interested party in that branch of the church anymore.”
Anita herself loses control
But even the seven-man board led by Mrs. Oyakhilome has itself lost control of the affairs of the church. On August 11, the U.K. charity commission effectively sidelined her board and appointed an interim manager to take over the management of the church.
In what it described as a “temporary and protective measure,” the commission appointed Rod Weston of the international audit and accounting firm, Mazars, to take over the running of the church.
The Commission says it is investigating the church over “a number of serious concerns relating to the use of charitable funds, in particular large connected party payments and the potential misapplication of grant funding.”
Until investigation is concluded, Mr. Weston would preside “over the management of the charity, including its staff, assets, interests, and relations with third parties,” the commission said. He is also expected to discharge the functions of the church’s trustees and take steps necessary to secure and take control of the assets of the church.
The commission however added that the activities of the church would not be suspended by the appointment as the Interim Manager is expected to work with the pastors of the church to ensure its religious and charity activities continue as before.

Pastor Anita Oyakhilome's Name And Photo Removed From Rhapsody Of Realities As Messy Divorce Rages On(See Photos)
Anita Oyakhilome has been excluded from the newly released October-2014 edition of Christ Embassy's monthly devotional 'Rhapsody of Realities'. The devotional, which was started many years ago by the now estranged couple, usually had both their pictures and writings in the pages, but in this new 31-page edition, there's not one pic or article attributed to Pastor Anita, just pastor Chris.
Also, the back cover of the magazine which usually had a picture of the couple now has only Pastor Chris on it. It's now strictly Pastor Chris. Below is a snipet of the newly released Rhapsody Of Realities.
See how it used to look below...
Also, a new single sister, Pastor Ms Yemisi Kudehinbu(pictured below) has been named the new Chief Executive officer of the Believers Loveworld, an arm of the church that produces the monthly devotional.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Suspends Female Church Pastor For Blasphemy
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, General Overseer of Believers Loveworld Ministries, also known as Christ Embassy, has suspended one of his pastors in Lagos, Michelle Okojie, for what they termed her “subversive activities.”
In a statement read during Sunday's service by Ray Okocha, the church’s Secretary General, Pastor Michelle Okojie had been visiting church members in private and slandering the ministry.
“It has come to our attention that Pastor Michelle Okojie has been visiting church members in private and slandering the ministry, engaging in subversive activities that are against the scriptures.”
Citing Bible passages from Romans 16:17-20 and Titus 3:10 wherein Christians were told to “watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles,” the church warned every member of the congregation to stay away from Ms. Okojie.
“The church is not a social club where you can walk in and walk out at will and live disorderly. Pastor Michelle is hereby suspended from the fellowship. Avoid her. Do not fellowship with her. Do not try to counsel her or receive counsel from her. All you can do is direct her to her pastor. Do not be a partaker of another man’s sin.”
Efforts by PremiumTimes to ascertain from the church members the real reasons for Ms. Okojie’s suspension were unsuccessful as all the church members approached for comments declined to speak. But one who spoke over the telephone said that the pastor was suspended for blasphemy. The church member who did not want her name mentioned for faith reasons told PremiumTimes:
She has been suspended for blaspheming against the ministry. But we don’t know exactly why. My zonal pastor just told us we should not have communication with her.”
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome also enjoined his congregation to refrain from speaking against a man of God. Mr. Oyakhilome described a man of God – as different from a preacher – as one who had been given a revelation from heaven.
“To speak against the man of God is to bring a curse on yourself and your children. When you hear people speaking against a man of God, move away from there. Men of God don’t just talk. When they speak, God is forced to move.”
Sunday’s service was Mr. Oyakhilome’s first appearance to the Lagos branch since the news of his divorce broke last month, and he meticulously stayed away from discussing the saga. He had conducted the service via a telecast from the branch in Pretoria, South Africa.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Speaks On Divorce : Blast Media, Says They Are Writing Stupid Things(Video)
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has opened up on his divorce. The man of God said he was not accused of the things the media were reporting and neither did he 'commit' those 'stupid' things.
And he asked people to pray for his wife because she made a mistake. In the video, he said :
And he asked people to pray for his wife because she made a mistake. In the video, he said :
"I understand that some media houses particularly in Nigeria and maybe in South Africa have been writing some real stupid things. Frivolous charges...that's crazy.
You have to understand something about a Man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or who preaches God. A man of God is directed by God, set on course by God. If you study the scriptures you will not find one Man of God going against God, sinning against God. The only thing you can find is a Man of God, maybe in two different things 1. Moses for example, when he struck the rock twice, provoked by the anger of the people, not because he wanted to do something against the Lord.
No Man of God does something against the Lord. A Man of God is set on course, there is a type of life that he's been given, alright?
Then you have a young man, a young prophet, he wasn't named, he was deceived by another Man of God, and so he went in the direction God says don't go. That's only the kind of thing you would find about a Man of God when he misses the message of God or he acts beyond what God said.
But a Man of God setting himself in defiance to the word of God and living like they are writing those stupid things about me that I did this, that I did that, you don't know what a Man of God is. I don't go in that direction. That seems crazy.
I wasn't accused of those things you said, nor did I commit those stupid thing that you said and I don't need to go to that level and such discussions. Jesus Christ was accused by many, with lots of frivolous charges. There would always be those who would like for it to be true, but you know, in spite of the accusations against Jesus, it didn't change who he was!
There are preachers and there are Men of God. I'm not a preacher, I'm a Man of God. Understand the difference. And I go in the way I'm asked to go, it may cause some troubles with individuals, but that's not because I've done something wrong.
And when it comes to Rev. Anita, what I'd say to you is pray for her, don't act like 'why is she....' . If you're married to a Man of God it does not you make automatically mature. You can make mistakes, but you know, people expect the wife of a Minister to definitely be at the level of the Minister, and so they may be looked upon and the expectations maybe like that, but it's a positional thing. If a Man of God is married, it does not automatically mean the wife of the Man of God is therefore a Woman of God! That's not how it is in the Bible. What about all the other apostles? How many are registered in the bible? You never find their names, why? Ask God when you find Him!
So, they are little things, don't try to make something big out of them. We're journeying, doing the things that God's called us to do. Christians should not have a divorce. It shouldn't be. But that doesn't mean a Christian may not take the step. They may do it, but that doesn't make it right. And we shouldn't take one another to court, but when it happens, not because we want to go there, someone is taking us there. That's a problem. Be wise and stay focused in the Word of God, and don't let those who want to feast on things like this including Christians. The Christians who like things like this, they want to make something big about it. And say yes we said it. You said what? You should only say those things that are from God, and become honorable in your speech. And judge nothing before the time. Be wise, Glory to God.
So we are going greater and greater and greater by the power of the living Christ. So, we are not walking in sin and living in sin and hoping we can mix sin and righteousness together, No! We are the manifestations of His righteousness, we walk in that light only, and that's the way it's going to be! Glory to God. Watch the video below.....

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Finally Addresses Congregation Over Divorce Allegations
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has finally addressed the allegations leveled against him after maintaining silence on the divorce suit filed against him by his wife,
Speaking on Sunday evening during the monthly global communion service of the church, he said the allegations were “crazy” and “stupid”. Oyakhilome acknowledged that divorce is unbiblical but suggested he could consider the option should his wife insist on it.
He also criticized the media for prying into his private life and urged members of his church to pray for his estranged wife.
I understand that some media houses particularly in Nigeria and maybe in South Africa (I don't know) but there are some of them that have been writing some real stupid things...real stupid things, and errrrhh...frivolous charges...that's crazy.

'Double Wahala' : U.K. Commission Probes Pastor Chris Oyahilome's Christ Embassy Over Payments
According to Premium Times, the imminent breakup of their marriage may be the least of the problems popular mega-church pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita, are facing at the moment as the United Kingdom agency is investigating the UK branch of their church, Christ Embassy, over controversial payments made.
The United Kingdom Charity Commission has launched a probe into the transfer of at least N941 million (£3.6 million) by the church to overseas entities between 2008 and 2012.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Charity Commission said it has opened a statutory inquiry to investigate Christ Embassy over “a number of serious concerns relating to the use of charitable funds, in particular large connected party payments and the potential misapplication of grant funding.”
According to the Charity Commission, which is the regulator of charities in England and Wales, statutory inquiries are only opened to investigate “the most serious” regulatory breaches.
The commission said the purpose of the inquiry is to “determine whether there has been any mismanagement or misconduct on behalf of the charity trustees; to establish whether charitable funds have been properly applied and take appropriate remedial action if necessary.”
The investigation was initiated in July 2013, but after interviewing members of the board of trustees and perusing the records and books of the church for a year, the commission was still not convinced that the church has been prudent in managing its finances.
Subsequently, the UK tax authority, HM Revenue and Customs, has withheld N711.4 million (£ 2.7 million) due to the church in donation between 2008 and 2012 until the conclusion is resolved.
On August 11, the commission effectively side-lined the church’s board of trustees and appointed an interim manager to take over the management of the church. In what it described as a “temporary and protective measure,” the commission appointed Rod Weston of the international audit and accounting firm, Mazars, to take over the running of the church.
Until investigation is concluded, Mr. Weston would “take over the management of the charity, including its staff, assets, interests, and relations with third parties,” the commission said.
Curious payments
Although the Charity Commission said it does not provide details of ongoing cases so as not to jeopardize the investigations, PREMIUM TIMES assessment of the case however revealed that the church may have made curious payment worth at least N941 million ((£3.6 million) to individuals and companies closely connected with it.
A study of the church’s financial statements from 2009 to 2012 posted on the Charity Commission’s websites, show that approximately N403 million (£1,572,047) was paid to Love World Limited from the transmission of the church’s broadcast.
Curiously, the sole director of Love World Limited and sole shareholder is one Pastor Obiora Chiemeka who is also listed as a trustee of the church. Mr. Chiemeka was appointed a trustee in 2009, the year the church began to make the payment to his company.
The church also paid an estimated N538.5 million (£2.1 million) as grants to mostly Nigerian partner organisations between 2008 and 2012. On a closer look, PREMIUM TIMES discovered that some of the charges the payments were said to cover were arbitrary, suggesting they might have been used for other purposes other than what they were listed for.
For instance, between 2010 and 2012 a total of N320.4 million (£1.24 million) was paid to Love World Television Ministry, LTM. These payments appear to be a duplication of the payment for transmission of television broadcast paid to Love World Limited. Though the church’s dedicated television station is called Love World Television, it is not clear how Love World Television Ministry differs from Love World Limited. Love World Television Ministry is not listed on the church’s website among the ministries Christ Embassy runs.
Also, in 2009, N9.6 million (£37,785) was paid to the church’s healing ministry known as Healing School. In 2010, N20.5 million (£97,850) was paid to the same school. However, the amount paid to the ministry dropped drastically in 2011 to N346, 072 (£1,350). Then the payment to the ministry shot up astronomically to N25.6 million (£100,000) in 2012.
When PREMIUM TIMES called Christ Embassy’s international office for comments, an official who answered the phone said those who could speak on the issue were not in the office. The Interim Manager has also not responded to PREMIUM TIMES enquiries.
Like Ashimolowo like Oyakhilome
The investigation into Christ Embassy’s finances is the second time the Charity Commission will be carrying out statutory inquiry into the UK branch of a Nigerian Church.
Between 2002 and 2005, the commission appointed KPMG to act as interim managers to another Nigerian church in the UK, Kingsway International Christian Centre, KICC, founded by Matthew Ashimolowo. A report released in October 2005 revealed serious misconduct and mismanagement of the church’s finances.
The investigation discovered that Mr Ashimolowo approved payments and benefits for himself and his wife, Yemisi, totalling £384,000. He used the church’s Visa card to make personal purchases including a timeshare apartment in Florida for £13,000. The report also revealed that his wife bought a Bentley with a custom plate number worth £80,000.
Ashimolowo was also paid over half a million pounds to personal companies operating from the church property. The report revealed that some of his companies had unclear business relationship with the church.
The commission ordered him to repay £200,000.
Divorce
Mr. Oyakhilome is locked in a divorce battle with his estranged wife, Anita, who has filed an action at a UK court to end their 20-year-old marriage. Mrs. Oyakhilome accuses her husband of “adultery” and “unreasonable behaviour”, charges Mr. Chris has denied.
At a recent church meeting, Pastor Chris, as he is widely referred to by Christ Embassy members, warned church members against analysing the squabble between him and Anita as the church is not a political party. He allegedly described his wife as a “bitter and angry” woman who is being influenced by bad friends who are out to seek his downfall. He reportedly accused his wife of seeking to overpower the authorities of the elders she met when she joined the Christian ministry.
As the divorce battle rages, Mrs. Oyakhilome’s profile has been pulled down from the church’s website. Source

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Speaks Out : Denies Adultery Accusations, Threatens To Sue Journalists
Following some alleged adultery accusations labelled against him, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, who is on the verge of beign divorced by his wife Anita Oyakhilome, has denied the adultery accusations and has threatened to sue journalists who publish stories about himself and his wife.
In a statement released via his lawyer Mr. Kemi Pinheiro (SAN) a few hours ago, Pastor Oyakhilome said the accusations of adultery against him is 'false and malicious'.
"The attention of our client, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, and the church has been drawn to the wave of false, malicious and fabricated stories being published in the print and electronic media about his person, the church and a matrimonial cause between him and his wife," his attorney stated.
Sahara Reporters that:
Sharply criticizing the recent coverage of the divorce proceedings, which the statement did not refute, the release claimed that publishers went so far as to fabricate claims that he had committed adultery against his wife, Anita. These contradict her claims that the leader of Christ Embassy Church had indeed been unfaithful during their "terribly degenerated" marriage, something she disclosed through counsel to Premium Times earlier Wednesday.
Chris Oyakhilome characterized the media's coverage of his wife's efforts to divorce him as “complete distortion of the facts in the pending proceedings in the United Kingdom”, the statement cited the coverage as "selfishly motivated" for political and financial advantage.
Oyakhilome's counsel further said the media's coverage was engineered to bring him and the church shame and ridicule, though his wife was the person who aired the allegations against him. Earlier today, Wednesday, Mrs. Oyakhilome even told Premium Times, through counsel, that the marriage had "terribly degenerated".
The statement also acknowledged freedom of the press, but quite contradictorily cautioned that further action will be taken to safeguard the image of the church and the pastor if coverage continued. "Be warned therefore that unless the concerned media houses desist from further publishing words and stories which are false and damaging of our client’s reputation and the church, we shall, without further recourse to the concerned publishers, promptly embark on appropriate legal machinery with a view to protecting our client’s reputation and that of the church." Rev. Anita Oyakhilome’s Lawyers Drop Bombshell On Messy Divorce Case
For over two decades, Chris and Anita Oyakhilome (President & Vice-President of the Believers Love World, better known as Christ Embassy) made the list of Nigeria’s most celebrated couples till last week when TheCable, an online news medium, broke the news of their separation.
Rev. Anita Oyakhilome filed for divorce from her estranged husband Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, citing irreconcilable differences bordering on alleged adultery and misbehaviour. The case with suit no. FD14D01650 was filed on 9th April 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn in London.
City People Magazine initiated contact with Anita’s lawyers, Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a UK-based full-service law firm. In the reply sent today, Stephen Goddard stated that:
“It is with great sadness that our client, Pastor Anita Oyakhilome, has come to the conclusion that her marriage to Pastor Christian Oyakhilome has irretrievably broken down and regrettably there is no hope of any reconciliation. We can confirm that Pastor Anita Oyakhilome has commenced divorce proceedings in London as she resides in the UK.” Source

Christ Embassy Members Wades Into Pastor Chris And Anita Oyakhilome's Divorce Reports
Members of Chris Oyakhilome's Christ Embassy church are divided over his split from his wife Anita who filed for divorce a few months ago on the grounds of 'unreasonable behaviour' and 'adultery'. On a Facebook page called 'Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome,’ some members are putting their pastors and church on blast...
Yesterday, one member wrote
"I am a Christ Embassy member. I hate one thing there: How can a pastor be working together with a lady hand in hand, attending meetings and lodging in a hotel for days. My girlfriend travels with our branch pastor annually for PPCF which holds in Lagos. Only God knows.”
Another one wrote;
"Pastor Chris Oyakhilome must have been discovered compromising his marital bed business. It is what it is. God says judgement will start from His house. ‘Touch not my anointed’ is God’s instruction regarding all His children, not an individual nicking, scheming, threatening monies off people’s purses and telling them that salvation is tied to tithes and that seed sowing is only money donation to the church/pastor’s coffers. One down, more to roll. Christ be praised.”
Another member of the page wrote
" I and my family left Christ Embassy for our own good after worshiping there for three years plus and seeing all the things going on under the disguise of church. And I can comfortably say that for over a year now, we have had so much peace in our Christian lives. I don’t care how you view my comment but truth must be told.”
Joseph Osagiede, however, responded saying the Oyakhilomes were still together. He said,
“I have been in Christ Embassy for 12 years. All is totally well with thier marriage. All those wishing them to split and also those going about saying nasty things about the church, be careful.” Faith Ebunoluwa Adetayo also said, “I have been in Christ Embassy since 1990s and I can authoritatively say some things: I have seen the power of God work, demonstrated in healings and many other things. I have seen how that Pastor Chris is less concerned about mistakes we make. “He believes that these sins of the flesh will disappear, only if we listen to the word of God. Rather than condemning us, he speaks words of encouragement. And for your information, Pastor Anita is still very much in the ministry and she’s with her darling husband.”
Meanwhile, the Christ Embassy has kept mum on the divorce case.
A woman, who picked Punch’s call to the Nigerian office of the church on Saturday, said she had no information to give on the matter. When asked to confirm if the divorce suit was true or not, she simply said, “I have no information to give on the matter.”
When another call was made to the church thorough another number, the respondent, who identified herself as Pastor Christabel, said the church had no information about the case. “No, we have no information on the matter,” she said.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome And Anita's Divorce : Facebook Page Writes Again
The Facebook page that first made public the issues between Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and wife, Pastor Anita, again shared this memo you are about to read. This is coming after Pastor Anita was alleged to have filed for a divorce. Read below....
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is very interesting that we requested the closure of this page and were informed that in 14 days, the page will shut down. But... its still here! What happened?
The Lord needs the page open! The purpose obviously has not been achieved. There is a huge question still hanging - "Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?"
I believe the Lord allowed our silence to show us and all of you who are concerned about the ministry just how deep the problems are. It is not surprising the negative, abusive and insultive comments people have come here to make against others because they decided to stand up for truth and speak up.
The truth is that most of these people know the truth but the devil will not give up
without a fight. Some of these people were sent here by the leadership of the ministry thinking that a couple of barks will scare people away and finally shut down the page. What they do not realise is that our God is not a sentimental God and when He puts His hands on a thing, that thing becomes unstoppable. No matter what anybody says, does or thinks.
It is important for us to realise that Rev. Anita did not just leave, this is the move of the Spirit. There is no one else He could have moved in this way to cause a shaking for change. Plus, He could use her because she has never been a part of the evil. The Lord just separated her from the start and she gave herself to worshipping the Lord in Spirit and in Truth from the start.
When Pastor Chris moved her and the children to the UK and seemed to separate himself from his family, little did he know that the Lord was going to use his unfair thoughts and actions for the good of Rev. Anita and all His children who the ministry have smartly and are still trying to smartly lead away from God. The wisdom of man can never match the wisdom of God.
While, Pastor Chris is not making, I repeat, not making any moves to reconcile with his wife, he still needs her name and face in his materials to keep them attracting people and selling. How deceitful is that? Her name and face still appear on some Rhapsody of Realities articles she did not write. The authors of Rhapsody of Realities remain Pastors Chris and Anita Oyakhilome, even though she is completely out of the picture. And that is what some people hang on to to debunk the fact that she is no longer in the picture.
They initially tried to take her face and name off but realised quickly that it would be bad business for them. So, what next, keep her face and name on but her presence of course is not required. Well, not anymore! This is no longer the time of business as usual. Not at all!
Dear Pastor Chris, God is a merciful God. You know that. We still love you and will stand with you if you make the change. There is still time to make the required changes. You know very well the changes God needs you to make. Our thinking that the marriage is what needs fixing, is misplaced. The marriage breakdown is the result of the heart turned away from God.
Turn your heart back to your first love and the restorer will restore all. Yes, there would be unveiled dirty secrets but the merciful Lord will not allow it to be as bad as it would be if you do not make the change. When a leader makes a wrong turn, its the people that suffer most. After David numbered Israel and the people began to die as a result of his actions, David repented, but God gave him some options for his purnishment. David quickly took the option for God to deal with him by Himself. Why? He preferred for the Lord's direct purnishment and not his enemy's because as he declared, God is a merciful and kind God. That God has not changed.
Man's love is fickle. Just a little while longer and all those who have been rally around you, praising you on that all this will not lead anywhere, will begin to plot their quiet departure when they realise the brand "Pastor Chris" is no longer working for them. It is important for us to mention here that some of the writers on the page are your or informed by your close lieutenants.
This word is enough for now. This page is up and running!

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Wife Anita, Files For Divorce, Alleges Adultery
The Cable reports that the dissolution of the marriage between Christ Embassy Church founder, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome, has entered the final phase.
The wife is seeking divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery”. She outlined several allegations against the pastor which cannot publish for legal reasons. The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita’s behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence.
Efforts to reconcile the popular couple, whose church is one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and has branches all over world, have failed. They have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn."
Oyakhilome is the president of Believers’ Love World Inc, the registered name of the Christian ministry, while his wife is the vice-president. The pastor, according to an elder of the church, has denied allegations of adultery and believes his wife is being influenced by “bad friends” who are intent on destroying their home. While Anita believes she has been relegated in the scheme of things in the church, her husband has reportedly accused her of trying to usurp power and authority above her seniors in the ministry. Sources told TheCable that the pastor had been making efforts to avoid divorce in the hope that the wife would eventually have a change of mind. However, the decree nissi was served on the charismatic pastor in his hotel room during a recent visit to the UK.
Decree nissi, in legal terms, is like a yellow card in a football match which is a precursor to a red card (“decree absolute”) if no new evidence is provided to stall proceedings. Church insiders said Oyakhilome had been hoping for rapprochement, but he was left with no option than to receive the papers when the lawyers cornered him at his hotel in London. The decree absolute, which will effectively end the marriage, is expected to be issued soon while terms of the divorce will be worked out by the lawyers on both sides. Source

''Why Many Pastors Will Go To Hell'' - Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Blast
The founder and head pastor of Believers Love World, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Chris Oyakhilome left members of his church shocked with his revelation while preaching the message on Sunday.
While delivering the message titled ‘The lessons of Lot’, Pastor Chris explained to his members why most pastors will not make heaven.
“Many pastors will go to hell for not obeying God, some are not called by God, some just called themselves for their personal reasons, some are in the ministry to serve their senses”, he stated.
The popular pastor said some churches started out of strife and that some pastors left their churches where they were to go and started another ministry because of anger, strife, misunderstanding or envy.
He said, “Sometimes, it is between a pastor’s wife and an assistant pastor’s wife; you need to learn to obey God in all, I don’t want any of you in such situation. Make up your mind to obey God in everything”.
