Omotola & Genevieve Are Jealous Of Each Other, They Snub Each Other On Movie Set - Filmmaker

 The ongoing rivalry between Nollywood superstars Omotola Jalade and Genevieve Nnaji is far from over.

 According to a popular American cinematographer Keith L Smith who witnessed the two recently on a movie set, it was very obvious the duo are not into each other anymore.

Keith said the two kept a wide distance from each other to avoid stepping on each other’s toes.

Hear what Mr Keith Smith told a Lagos softsell magazine:

“Let me tell you something: it was amazing. I did not see it, but I felt it. However, they were very professional with the way they got along. I knew there was something between them, and I had heard of it. But when they got in front of the camera, they put all that behind them, but whenever they finished their scenes, they went their separate ways”.

He added that they parted without saying a word to each other while their colleagues exchanged pleasantries.

Genevieve Nnaji Opens up- I will marry a real man who's not intimidated by my success

Nollywood Star and popular Actress, Genevieve Nnaji is the latest guest of the popular celebrity program called 'The Truth' anchored by Olisa Adibua. The actress who  just re-launched her St. Genevieve clothing line has publicly declared that she is single and not searching, because she is a woman, therefore, a man is supposed to seek and find her.

“I am a woman we are not allowed to look, right now, I don’t have a boyfriend, I am that kind of person that eats with her eyes, I need to be attracted to you. Definitely, there has to be a physical attraction to draw me to you. But at the end of the day, it’s my mind I am going to fall in love with, so there is something that keeps me, so, I just think that, I am probably looking for a friend, somebody who shares a like mind and somebody who is confident. I like tall guys. I am short so you have to think of the kids” she said.

According to Nigeriafilms.com she further stated that any man who is intimidated with her success is a boy and that she is not looking for a kind of man that let artificial things like wealth intimidate them.
When she was asked if she would marry a man richer than her, she responded saying she is not rich because she pays tax, she pays rents, she runs an office.

My 'Beef' With Genevieve Nnaji'' - Actress Omoni Oboli Opens Up

  In a recent visit to the corporate office of iCampus Newspaper, actress Omoni Oboli opened up about an alleged beef with fellow actress Genevieve Nnaji, she said: 

“I can’t place my fingers on when the supposed “beef “started but one thing I know is that, there is no problem between Genevieve and I . We did not have any issue or problem whatsoever.We are not enemies, neither are we friends. We are colleagues, a senior one at that, we greet each other when we see; it is not like we visit each other at home.” 

Speaking on the real cause of the rumoured animosity, Omoni who recently became a director and producer said; 

"I acted a movie, Anchor Baby, the director (Lonzo Nzekwe) of the movie granted an interview and said Omoni Oboli is the best actress in Nigeria. Some bloggers lashed on it and said Omoni Oboli is better than Genevieve and Omotola. The next thing was that people started writing about a supposed ‘beef ‘with her. I cannot get the reason they didn’t write about beef with Omotola. In my opinion, someone somewhere was just being mischievous. I have absolutely no problem with her, and I believe she has no problem with me.” Source

I hid in a car boot the first time I met Genevieve Nnaji-Mercy Johnson opens up

The crown of who is the best actress in Nollywood has always been between old timers Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde but Mercy Johnson has been stealing the show in recent years because of her superb role interpretation. The heavily pregnant actress  opened up to City people magazine about her admiration for screen goddess Genevieve and talks about the first time they met:

Ahh! The first time I met her, my friend took me there. When we got to where she was, I became nervous. I told my friend “no let me hide in your boot.” And I did. I got into her boot. (laughs) Can you imagine I came to see her and when I got there I wanted to run back. I jumped into my friends boot. So, when she came out of the hotel, I could not see her, I could only hear her voice.

The 2nd time I saw her was on set. When she came down and I met her she said ahh! Mercy I like your movies and I started crying. I was in tears of joy. I said Aunty Genevieve, so you watch my movies. She was sort of embarrassed. Before I met her, she had already known that there was somebody who was crazily insane about her. She was really nice to me, receptive. And even whenever we work together she will correct me and say that thing you did, you could have done it this way.

Usually, in life, you will know somebody, who is more than you. Give him or her that respect. You can’t fight a battle you can’t win. It does not make any sense. If somebody is much more than you, there is nothing as big as you admitting it, and hearing from that person. I didn’t come into the picture to compete with anybody. I didn’t come into the picture to rub shoulders or outshine anybody. I came to learn, do it well, make it and be there.

On stories of their rumoured beef 

I really don’t know. I love Genevieve a lot. Growing up I discovered myself on time, I got to know my potentials. I got to know my weaknesses and I respected them. So, I didn’t really look at anybody as a threat, because the field is big 

enough. It is so large. All you have to do is make your footprint matter and people will come. You don’t force the fans to like you. In my entire career nobody for me has been worth my distraction or was enough to be a competition for me. It is do your thing I do my thing. We have different physiques, different voices. Let the fans choose, who does it better. It is only those who don’t know the meaning of self-realization that will begin to see someone as a threat. I never did see anybody as a threat. I saw my seniors as a pathway for me to learn from, not as a threat. I didn’t come into the industry because I wanted to take over from them, because there is no movie I will do that will measure up to what they had done.

There is no acting I will act today that Genevieve has not acted. So, it was more like I want to learn from you, and I want to better myself for me, not because I want to edge you out. The industry is so large that only one person can’t occupy it. It is when you don’t understand who you are, when you have not realized self actualization, you don’t know who you are, that is when you begin to see people as a threat, or as a competitor. That came up at a point in my career. It came up and it even made me stronger and bigger. Nobody was actually worth my distraction, or strong enough to be a competition for me.
