Comedian/Singer Maleke Appointed Edo Governor's SSA On Entertainment Matters

The governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole has appointed an up and coming comedian, Maleke as his Senior Special Adviser (SSA) on Entertainment Matters. 

Maleke is also a singer well known for his hit single 'Low Waist'. He is fondly called the Miniwana Master by many. 

Maleke has now joined the likes of entertainers in Nigeria who are serving on government or the other in Nigeria. 

More recent is the appointment of Bob Manuel Ndokwu as an SSA. Nkiru Sylvanus is also serving a government in Imo State just like RMD is doing as a Commissioner in Delta State.

Mistress Burns 14-Year-Old Maid’s Buttocks For Being ‘Promiscuous’

A 14-year-old house maid, Otobong Edet John, had her buttocks seared with hot electric iron by her mistress, simply identified as Ekaette, on the suspicion that she was promiscuous.

Narrating her ordeal, Otobong said she was receiving a call on her phone when the madam operating a canteen asked her who was on the phone and she said it was one of her friends. “But madam did not believe me and started beating me. So I ran and stayed somewhere with my friend”, she stated.

According to her, she remained in that place until about 10p.m. when she went to sleep in a church close to their shop and the next morning “when I was about coming to the shop, a neighbour saw me discussing with a customer who was asking me where I was coming from so early in the morning and went to tell my aunty that I spent the night with the man”. The madam, she said, went to the police station at nearby Atimbo Road, Calabar and reported to them that the man abducted her housemaid.

But after the police interrogated the man, they let him go and this infuriated Ekaette following which she allegedly dragged Otobong to the shop, plugged the electric iron and when it was red hot, she used the scorched parts to sear the maid’s body including her buttocks and right arm. Not done yet, she allegedly put a basin of banana on the girl’s head, asking her to go to town and sell even as her arm and buttocks were bleeding.

 “It was a customer who wanted to buy banana that saw that my arm was bleeding and asked me what happened and, when I showed him my buttocks, he shouted and took me to the police”, she said. The mistress, while being interrogated by the police at Akim Police Division for causing bodily harm to a minor, justified her action by saying that Otobong was a rude and wayward girl. “When she told me it was Mary that called her, I called back that number and it was a male voice that answered and she then changed the story that she did not know what the man wanted after she had discussed with the man for over two minutes”,Ekaette said.

She said there were instances when the girl had gone from home to stay with men even as she had repeatedly cautioned her to change her ways. “That girl you are seeing is a very wayward girl and, if I tell you her story, you would marvel”, she said.

The Public Relations Officer for the Cross River State Police Command, DSP John Umoh, said the action of Ekaette was unacceptable as it amounted to child abuse and “after investigations she would be taken to court”.

I’ve never met girl that took pix of me in bed

In December last year, Dami duro crooner Davido was enveloped in a second lady-in-bed photo scandal with an unnamed girl after the first one involving girl friend Sonia went viral in March while holidaying in  Ghana.

Davido has kept mum on the matter until now when he tells former Big Brother Africa house mate Ebuka Obi Uchendu  hosts of TV programme Rubbing Minds that he never knew this girl.

“I was asleep in bed. The girl just snuck in and (makes gesture of taking photograph) I don’t know her. I used to stay in an apartment back then and movement was kind of free. Maybe I didn’t lock the door and she just snuck in and took the pix. I have  however moved to my new home where there is much tighter security.

I didn’t realise what was going on even after the pix was posted online. I traveled to Ghana immediately afterwards and I noticed on the plane people were just staring at me and I wondered why. Since it was a flight my phone was switched off  and so I had no idea what was happening online. When I got to Ghana, I still got the same stare from people. I was asked by friends to switch on my phone and that was it. 300 calls from Dad, 600 calls from grandma, everyone one asking Davido what’s going on.”

Davido claims the girl in question later called his ‘people’ to apologise but then the damage had already been done. He hopes such incidences never occur again as he maintains his resilience to finish his studies, face his music business and continue to be a role model to others.

10 Signs She Wants You To Ask Her Out

My Divorce Is Not The End Of Life And My God Has Given Me Cheer And Joy

Kate Henshaw has been a leading light, one of the veterans in Nollywood for a long time and she is still waxing strong. In this interview with newsmen, she speaks on issues bordering on the movie industry, her personal life, among other issues. Excerpts
Your divorce came as a shock to a lot of people. Why did you take that decision?

Shock? Have you not heard that Seal and Heidi (Klum) have divorced? Haven’t you seen people who have been married for 20 to 25 years and divorced? I’m not perfect; no one is. We all have our low moments. It doesn’t mean I’m a failure. Everybody goes through bad patches in life. Life must go on, whether we like it or not. It’s always better to part under good circumstances than for someone to be in jail, or die, or to be hurling insults at each other. There is no need for that.

It seems you don’t regret your divorce, because you always have this cheerful look?

It’s God. Looking back at my life, where I came from, I never even thought I would be an actress. I never even thought I would have an opportunity to meet people, to be a role mode. So, it’s not for me to feel self-pity. I’m grateful to God every single day. I choose to be happy. I am a happy person. Someone encouraged me with these words yesterday: ‘Every problem you have will resolve and dissolve’. So, my divorce is not the end of life and my God has given me cheer and joy. That explains why I am always happy and cheerful. No regrets.

I got to put a lot of myself in that movie. I had a say in the clothes I wore, the cars I drove, the way I talked and walked.

 I had a lot of input and it made it that much better." On keeping her business to herself; "Come on now. We both know I haven’t been flying under the radar. Let’s be real [laughs]. You know it seems that everyone was always interested in my love life. When I was younger I was real quick to say, ‘Hey I’m in love or we’re going over here. But I learned to not kiss and tell. There have been too many false stories about me in the papers, and several blogs. My name has been linked with several people whom I am supposedly familiarly linked with. Some of these false reports even went as far as claiming that my family house was bought by these imaginary suitors. This is disheartening. I come from a reputable royal family and, we are a hardworking people. We have achieved all we have through faith in God and hard work.

"I have been suffering menstrual pains since age 13' - Nike Oshinowo opens up,,,

Endometriosis is painful disorder in which the tissue that lines the uterus grows outside of the uterus and on other organs. Endometriosis can cause pain, internal scar tissue and fertility problems and former beauty queen Nike Oshinowo has been battling with it for over 33 years. Nike explains:

"I have lived with Endometriosis since the age of 13. I went to boarding school in England  when I was 7. I went to prep school. It was during the first few days in secondary school that I began my periods. They called the ambulance and I was hospitalized for 10 days because the pain wouldn't stop. The pain was so intense I passed out. I thought I was going to die.

Living with Endometriosis is a challenge. When you see your doctor, your doctor tries to treat the symptoms and assumes the pain revolves around your menstrual circle. But this is not so. The pain affects every single aspect of your life. I have never had an examination without my period. There are so many things I have never done without my period. When I am happy, my period comes. When I'm depressed, my period is there. I learned to just cope with it. 

Until I turned 40, Nigerians didn't know I suffered from Endometriosis. I granted an interview then and people understood why I never drank alcohol and why I was into healthy living. At last, it was understood why if I come to your party, by 8pm I had to go home to take my pain killers because when you live with Endometriosis, you live with pain. I have a library in my home about pain.

I talk about this pain now so that mothers, when their young daughters are starting their period for the first time and it is traumatic, they should go to the hospital and have it checked out.

Mine was left so late in life in spite of the fact that I grew up in England. I have had so many surgeries I have lost count. I remember when Michael Jackson died and they talked about a drug he had been taking. I exclaimed oh yes I have taken that drug. You try everything to make the pain go away, so all I know is that I don't want a child of mine to suffer Endometriosis. The only way to make sure of that is to educate as many as I can.

One ignorant doctor told me once to try to have a baby, because once you have a baby the pain would go away. I thought to myself if I had a gun, I would have shot that doctor and I would have been locked and there would have been no one to give me pain killers. The reason for that relief is that when you are pregnant, you don't have periods and a long gap of not menstruating actually abates the symptoms of Endometriosis.

Women with Endometriosis do not want to have sex because it is painful. So you do not want to have intercourse once and it is painful, you will not want to go there. It is not something you are going to look forward to. You are either bleeding or you do not want. So, on the average, my friend's period is 5 days, mine, if I'm lucky lasts 7-10 days and if I'm super duper lucky, lasts less than 7 days. If you look at a girl's circle, 26-27 days, remove the days she's been menstruating and remove the days she doesn't want, when she had premenstrual tension. When every part of you is sore, on those days you are not going to want and even on the remaining 5 or so days that you are OK, you are not going to want to have intercourse it is going to be painful. You just don't want to, so you cannot have a proper relationship with men.

Endometriosis is a disease. You are not supposed to have endometrial tissue in your abdomen. Surgery removes it. But the moment you menstruate, the pain comes back. My understanding is that I have a uterus, every woman does. Something lines it. Just like when you want to bake, you line your pan with baking paper. That baking paper or lining is the endometrial tissues. But mine isn't just confined to my uterus. It's in my fallopian tube, it's every where. Everywhere this tissue is, when you menstruate, that tissue will be doing the same thing. and you feel pain everywhere. Anywhere that tissue is, it behaves as if it is the uterus. The purpose of menstruating is to shed the lining and come out. I know someone who has endometrial tissue in her gut. Even in the brain. When you menstruate, it also menstruates and you feel pain there. 

I am almost 47 and I am looking forward to menopause. People like us look forward to it because it give us a breather. I have finally learned how to cope with the pain, how to live with it and how to manage it. It takes up a huge amount of my time and life...

She waited with high expectations to usher in the new year and rejoice with her friends, family and her kid for the well completed year with good health. She was also excited as she had just completed her masters degree and the year obvious worked so well for her. 

She was an upcoming actress by choice, a student a mother and a business woman who had intrest of her freinds at heart. She had a big heart.

Yesterday at around 8am she drove from their home at Karen to Eldoret to pick her grandmum since the family wanted to be together in welcoming the new year. her son pleaded to accompany her mum but after many considerations she refused. 

Later in the day it was reported and confirmed that she had a fatal accident that claimed her life on the spot. 

On 31st|December and many days and even years to come this family will forever remember the last day of 2012 as a black day. 

Assume she was your sister, your close family relative, your lover, wife, mum and the pain the family is going thru right now. 

If you are healthy this year its not by your might but God have made you see this day. You don't know when you will breath your last breath, hope is keeping you.

Jesse Jagz performs all-new single on Nigerian Idol

If you missed Nigerian Idol show this past Saturday and Sunday, you missed two utterly engaging shows. Not only was the comeback queen with nine lives, aka Safeeyat, saved by the judges, the contestants gave the performances of their lives, and, Jesse Jagz was in the building.

KANYE WEST NEW ALBUM TITLE “I AM GOD”?

Kanye West is known for making shocking and controversial headlines with the decisions he makes, but if this rumor is true and Kanye West goes through with it, this could take the cake for the most controversial thing he has done so far in his career.

According to BBC in an article about what Kanye West and Kim Kardashian might name their first born child, it was revealed that Kanye is contemplating naming his upcoming album I Am God.

Mixed emotions greet reports that Kanye West is considering calling his first child North. It’s a good joke, from a slightly unexpected source (neither the rapper nor his possibly even more famous partner, Kim Kardashian, are best known for their self-deprecating sallies, although the title Kanye is supposed to be contemplating for his new album, I Am God, is said to be “half tongue-in-cheek”).

Rumored titles for Kanye‘s upcoming album have been Black American Psycho, Rich Black American and a combination of the two–Rich Black American Psycho, but if Kanye goes through with it the project might now be titled I Am God.

Kanye West made headlines back in 2006 when he appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone wearing a crown of thorns, covered in blood dressed as Jesus Christ on the cross. That was controversial at the time, but this just might one up that.
