Meet Sosoliso Plane Crash Survivor, Kechi Okwuchi, As She Celebrates Her Birthday

 Pictured above is Kechi Okwuchi is one of the only two survivors of the ill-fated Sosoliso plane crash that occurred in December 2005. It's been almost 9 years since the accident and even though it's not been easy, Kechi is living her life and loving it through the mercy of God! yesterday, she clocked 25.

 Kechi's life changed forever in 2005 when she was just 16. She and 60 other schoolmates from Loyola Jesuit College, a boarding high school in Abuja, boarded a Sosoliso plane headed to Port Harcourt for the Christmas holiday...but 20 minutes to landing, something went terrible wrong. The plane crashed and Kechi lost all her friends. She survived but was badly burnt. But that hasn't stopped her from living. She's a senior at the University of St. Thomas, a private Catholic college in Houston, Texas, USA. Happy belated birthday to Kechi.

Store Owner Strips Female Customer Half-n*ked For Stealing(Photos)

 A female shoplifter was stripped half-naked by a merciless store owner after she was caught stealing in her store.

 The shoplifter, 28 year old Yu Chung, went into the store in China's Zhejiang province to buy clothes and stuffed some into her bag without paying for them.

 The angry store owner, 39 year old Mei Hsueh, who caught her red handed, descended on her, removed her top to prevent her from running away, then removed her bra and pushed her outside of her store. Of course a crowd gathered to watch, some took photos and shared them online...

"This thief was trying to steal my clothes so I took off some of hers.She'll think twice before she does that again. It was meant to be a warning to all those thieves out there to show them that not all shops are a pushover." the store owner said.

 The police eventually arrived the scene and Yu was taken away. She has been charged with theft but no action was taken against the shop owner. Source

Zambia President, Michael Sata, Dead

 The President of Zambia, Michaal Sata has died aged 77. He reportedly died yesterday October 28th at the King Edward VII hospital in the United Kingdom after suffering from an undisclosed ailment.

 Born July 6 1937, Mr Sata was elected Zambia's President in September 2011. He is survived by wife Christine and over children. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!!!

 Singer/song writer Harrysong has come to clear the air that cash he showed off on instagram last week is his and not borrowed like many fans on his instagram page claim.

"I'm Not Bothered That People Think I Am Arrogant" - Wizkid Says

 Encomium mag caught up award winning singer Wizkid, and he revealed that he doesn't care if people think he is arrogant, that he doesn't love everybody and so doesn't expect everybody to love him. Read excerpt below....

Asked if it bothers him that people think he's arrogant, Wizkid said;

"Bother me? Never! I am not bothered. Honestly I don't hear people saying it because anytime I go out, I show my fans great love. I do my thing. I don't have problem with that because I don't love everybody as well. So I don't expect everybody to love me too. That's life".

Asked if he is terrible person, Wizkid said;

"Terrible? Everyone has opinion about people. But when they say Wizkid is terrible, you need to ask them, "Why is Wizkid a terrible person? What did he do? For four years, I was making music with Samklef, everyone knew his house. I was going up and down, shouting, Samklef Nor Ni. That's me, I am just trying to be a good person. Whereas everyone cannot like you and everyone cannot hate you" he said.

Asked if fame has in anyway changed him, Wizkid said

"No, fame has not changed Wizkid. The only thing fame has changed in Wizkid is that I added some accessories. I have got nice chains, watches, and nice clothes. Asides that, I am still Wizkid. I no tall, still same height".

He also reacted to his recent controversy with singer Saeon,

"Oh really? She's bitter about it. I didn't see the allegation but I gave her hit song. I no try? I did my part. I was in the studio with her, gave her hit song. I no try. That's not even how much I charge for collaboration, I charge N10 million. I collected N1.5 million from her because of love. I was busy, I didn't want to do it" he said.

Asked about the comment that he doesn't charge those he loves, Wizkid said;

"Yeah I don't charge people I love. I said so but when someone is on your neck everyday for a collaboration and she offers you money, won't you collect it? If you fail to collect it, they start calling you terrible person. I am just trying to be a good guy".

On his fashion sense, Wizkid said;

"Fresh! Am I not looking fresh? I have always loved chains a lot. For me, I also see chains as investment because they ar gold and diamond. You can always sell anything gold and diamond. It is like an investment for me".

On why he loves to flaunt his accessories on social media, Wizkid said;

"You know now. I didn't have accessories when I started my career. Did you see me wearing bling-bling when I did Hola at your boi? No! I hustled to get money to buy them and there is no crime if I show it or flaunt it to my fans because they gave me money to buy them" he said.

On where he invests his money, Wizkid said;

"I will say property but most importantly Jewelry. Do you know how much I can sell this chain on my neck when I get broke, God forbid? It's money and to me it's investment. I don't spend money on foolish things. I spend moderately. Besides I am a grown man. I have problems too. I have a child I am taking care of. I have responsibilities, believe it or not" he said.

Asked if he is expecting another child, Wizkid said;

"Expecting wetin? Did I tell you I am expecting a child? Yes I didn't tell you guys when I was expecting my first child because people wanted to kill me but Honestly, nothing like that I am not expecting any child now"

Asked if he is getting married anytime soon, Wizkid hissed and said "Wedding? No".

Drama! K-Switch's Beauty Queen Baby Mama Storms His Lekki Home, Causes Scene(Photos)

  Meena Subramani, D'banj's younger brother, Kayswitch's baby mama, stormed his home with their daughter in Lekki Phase1 this afternoon demanding to see him, but for some reason, the security guards wouldn't open the gates.

 Meena, who is Liberian got there by taxi and was carrying their 7 months old baby, started banging on the gate, shouting at security men and screaming that KaySwitch should come out and face her. She made a lot of allegations as she was screaming.

The house belongs to D'banj but he's currently not in Nigeria. Nobody came out of the house for the hour or so Meena was outside creating a scene. She has since left.

 All efforts to reach Kayswitch to find out what happened were unsuccessful. What could the issue be ? see more photos below....

48-year Old Nigerian Taking To UK Court For Drug Trafficking

 A 48 year old Nigerian man, Mathew Atueyi, who was caught and arrested on August 2nd at Edinburgh Airport, UK with 80 packs of cocaine valued at £387,000 was arraigned yesterday October 27th before a high court in Glasgow over drug trafficking charges.

 At the court hearing, the prosecuting counsel, David Nicolson said that Atueyi, who arrived the UK from Nigeria via Paris was arrested after £2000 was found on him. A urine test carried out on him tested positive for cocaine and an Xray conducted at the St John’s Hospital Livingston showed he had ingested multiple wraps of cocaine.

 "He was subsequently transferred to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he excreted 80 packages weighing around 1,192 grams in total" Nicholson said.

 When interrogated, Atueyi said he was a car dealer based in Onitsha and was also running a boutique. He confessed that the £2000 found on him at the airport was the upfront payment he got from those who he was transporting the drugs for. He is due for sentencing next month.

14-year Old Female Victim Of Washington School Shooting Dies In The Hospital

 Pictured above is 14 year old Gia Soriano who died in hospital last night after she was taken off life support. Gia was one of the five people shot at close range by 15 year old Jaylen Fryberg at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Washington D.C before he turned the gun on himself on Friday October 24th(Read).

 Her family released a statement saying;

"We are devastated by this senseless tragedy. Gia is our beautiful daughter, and words cannot express how much we will miss her."

 The hospital where she died said her organs were donated for transplant. Among the five people Jaylen shot at were two of his cousins, 15 year old Andrew Fryberg and 14 year old Nathan Hatch. Jaylen is said to have targeted the group because a love interest didn’t chose him. May her gentle soul rest in peace, Amen!!!

"People Don’t Believe I Am A Lagosian" - Actor Turned Politician Desmond Elliot Says

 For months now, many Nollywood stars and entertainers have been revealing their intention to join politics, some of them have already picked up party tickets. 

 And among them is ace Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot who has declared his intention to represent Surulere constituency in Lagos State House of Assembly under APC. Desmond had shocked a lot of Nigerians and was mocked for it when he added “Olusola” to his campaign name. 

 A few days ago, he released his campaign poster and manifesto for his House of Assembly ambition and here's what he has to say about people not knowing he had Yoruba blood in his veins.

Speaking with City People, Desmond said:

“I am from Lagos state. My father is from Olowogbowo in Lagos Island but my mother is from Delta state. I refer to myself as being a Pan-African. People don’t believe I am a Lagosian because I seldom act in Yoruba movies. And I didn’t include the Shola in my name. Then because my surname is also English, many couldn’t differentiate which made people confused of where exactly I am from. I am very detribalised. People of my constituency know my story and know where I come from. I have always used Shola in my primary school days. I went to Air Force Primary School in Plateau and later attended St John’s College, both in Jos. I proceeded to Lagos State University where I studied Economics and graduated in 2003.″ 

 On his reasons for joining politics, Desmond explained that joining politics for him is an ambition he has been nursing for many years but only joined since this is one of the appropriate time to declare his intention. Hear him: 

“Politics has been in me for many years but I wanted a party which was progressive. My choice of APC was because its stronger and progressive. The party is one you can identify with. This is also a good platform and a good party. It has lots of programs that cater for people’s welfare. It has so much differentiated itself from all others. This is one of the reasons why I decided to join the party” he explained.

What is his agenda if he eventually emerges the winner in the forth coming election? 

Security and Housing for more people. Welfare insurance, Housing for more people, road usage, protection of entertainers against abuse of creativity, content right protection which is on ground but not enforced. A lot more we can do to make the state a cosmopolitan and mega city”.

Sad! 300l University Student Shot Dead On Campus

 Ejiroghene Gbenidio(pictured above) a 300 level student of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Physical Sciences at the University of Benin in Edo state, was shot dead by unknown gunmen inside the Ugbowo campus of the school on Friday October 24th.

 According to reports, Ejiro was attending the jeans carnival of the final year students of his faculty when he was accosted and shot in the head. He died on the spot. 

 His body has been deposited at the Benin Teaching Hospital morgue. The matter is now being handled by the police at the Ugbowo Police station.

 Some students say they suspect it might have been as a result of a fallout between rival cult groups.

Shocking : South Africa Goalkeeper Who Played Against Nigeria Recently, Shot Dead In His Girlfriend's House(Photos)

 This is so sad. Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates first choice goalkeeper and captain Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead yesterday October 26th at his girlfriend's house just a few hours after the photo above was taken.

 According to reports, Meyiwa, 27, who was in goal for Orlando Pirates on Saturday night, was at his girlfriend's house, SA pop star Kelly Khumalo (pictured right), when three men entered the home in Vosloorus, Johannesburg to rob them. Meyiwa ended up getting shot in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. No one else in the house was hurt.

Even though he was dating Kelly openly, Meyiwa was married. Until his death he was married to a lady named Mandisa Mkhize and they had two children. He also had a child with Kelly, a baby girl named Aphelele who was born this year. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!!!

On how the ‘win’ was celebrated:, she said...

It was really an amazing thing that happened to me, I’m yet to get over the excitement. Not any one can be lucky like I was and I am still very grateful to God. My family threw me a party to celebrate but it was an in-house thing, it wasn’t an elaborate one, just private family celebration. We didn’t invite outsiders to avoid being kidnapped, lol.

You have been off the radar, why is that?

Yes and that’s because I am presently studying business information system in Malaysia. I left Nigeria in May, 2013.

Why Malaysia?

Actually I wanted to go to Georgia but my ticket wasn’t ready by then, so I settled for here and I really like it here anyway.

But you were already studying at the Rivers State College of Health Science and Technology

Yes but I had to quit, I couldn’t go back to complete my studies because the whole winning incident made me popular in school, everyone would point at me, try to be friends with me and all….. I was known all over which the school and I had to leave for security reasons, I didn’t feel safe.

 After paying your tithe offering, what was the first thing you bought from the money?

I let it breath fresh air in the bank, then I bought lots of land…I didn’t acquire houses or cars because that is not the main thing for now, moreover I’m not available to look over them so I settled for lands, it’s a safer investment. I would acquire the other properties with time.

And your parents?

I have settled my parents and I am taking good care of them but let me point out that we were doing okay even before I won the money; we had our own family house before then too. 

You didn’t go shopping at all…get new stuffs, change your wardrobe?

Yes I did. I changed my wardrobe, bought new stuffs for me and my family but I’m not a shopping freak.

What has changed about you since the win?

Nothing much. I am still the humble me, the person I used to be. The money doesn’t make me misbehave because God detests the proud.

You once said you will buy machines, work for yourself and be an employer of labour, have you fulfilled this yet?

Not really, plans change, and I am not in that field any more as I am studying something else now but if God permits, then it will be done.

Let’s talk about your love life. After you won the money, you said you had lots of toasters

Hahahaha it gave me headache. They all came because of the money you know…many of them got my contact from my sisters, they would call me to make empty promises, one of them even went as far as saying he’ll build a big house for my mum and also take me abroad, imagine! They went as far as calling to ask my parents if I am married…but it’s all good now, since I relocated here, everything has died down. I am now in a relationship and I will get married in due season.

Would you return to Nigeria after your studies or settle fully in Malaysia?

I will only visit. I am working on being an international business woman, but don’t ask me what I intend supplying.

So have you exhausted all the N64 million?

Haba, no not really, I still have some left

Any advise to the Nigerian youths?

Youths should be patient and wait for their time, God’s time is the best, thank you.

 The star actress, in a new interview with Vanguard revealed intimate secrets about her life, career, marriage and future ambitions. Excerpts:

How did you come about acting?

I started acting as a result of some challenges that came my way when growing up. My father was a custom officer and my mother a grade II teacher. Things were smooth for us until my father had issues with the Nigeria Customs and there was a turn around. My mum’s income was not enough for our upkeep and as the first child of the family, I wanted to support her. I moved into selling of clothes and other petty businesses at Tincan Island . But before that, I had loved entertainment, simply by watching home videos. Music and films were part of me. I had a cousin who I used to accompany to Fadeyi to see a friend of his. Then actors had their caucus known as ‘Star Parade’ there and each time we went visiting, I felt like becoming part of them. In 1997, I walked up to Mufutau Oladokun (Baba Alaran) who later became my boss and that was how I found my way into the world of acting.

Some people refer to you as an illiterate because you never attended a university, your comment?

I have a good background and valued education. But going to the university was something I had to sacrifice when things became rough for my family. I have the plan of going back to school but as the breadwinner of my family, a career woman, mother and a wife, it has not been easy. But when the time comes, I will, even if it means going abroad to avoid distraction. 

You have big boobs, have they caused you any embarrassment?

Before now, I get ashamed of them. But I later began to see the beautiful side and stopped hiding them because they fit me. People appreciate my boobs and I also love it. My boobs are one of the things that brought me to limelight in the movie industry.

Is your boobs your selling point?

Yes, it is and apart from that it is one part of my body I cherish most.

Are you happily married?

Yes, I am.

Why are you not living with your spouse?

I prefer how we live apart. At the early stage of our courtship, it was a bone of contention but later he knew what I wanted and I appreciate him for that. If I really want to be successful in my marriage and career, this is how best we feel we can go about it.

It was also gathered that you once broke up with your spouse?

I met my husband in 1999 after Ronke Oshodi Oke came out. We became lovers in 2000 but we could not move to the next level because of certain differences. Most Nigerian guys would think twice before marrying an actress. We dated for four years and went our separate ways. In-between those four years I met another guy whom I had my first child for. A year after I had my first issue, my then lover, who is now my husband came back and we began our affair in secret, though he proposed to me three times during the time.

Why the secret affair?

I did not want to have kids for different men. But because we were best of friends, he was always there for me and we were in love, we settled our differences and came back together.

Why did you leave the father of your first child?

He wanted me to come stay in Canada with him and I can not live outside Nigeria for any reason, I can only go visiting . Moreover, living in Canada will affect my career. I could not get happiness from the union but I waited five years before going into another marriage officially.

 Can we say it is one of the reasons you are reluctant to live with your husband?

Not at all. It only shows we understand ourselves very well. My husband is my friend.

How have you been coping as mother, career woman and a wife?

It has not been easy but as an African woman I have been managing well. Source
